With its range of equipment – from engines to propellers and all the

supporting and control equipment in between – Rolls-Royce can provide much of the equipment and systems needed for a RoPax and explorer cruise design. But the key to making them work effectively and efficiently is being able to integrate them into a single system.Headofmerchantvesseldesign

A Rolls-Royce RoPax or Explorer Cruise Vessel design begins with a question. In fact, it begins with a

detailed questionnaire to give the design team an initial understanding of what their customer is looking for. “When we receive that from the owner, we start developing a rough concept so we have something to put on the table at the first meeting,” says head of merchant vessel design, Per Egil Vedlog.Thatfirstdraftwilldrawonwhat

In a busy city port where shore power is not available, how can a RoPax ferry operator reduce emissions during port calls? Rolls-Royce Marine has the answer to that question: by installing a dedicated generator
