7. Gearboxes – uniorm sizing requires the

positive timing o crusher rolls providedby Gundlach’s patented gearboxes.These units maintain constant relationshipo one roll to the other, regardless o

position, and transmit ull horsepower.All gears are hardened steel. Drive gears

are mounted with taper-lock bushings.Idler gears are mounted on anti-riction

bearings. A “splash” lubricated oil bathensures reliable operation.

8.CouplingMountedRolls–facilitatequickand easy changing, cut downtime andserve as slingers to protect main bearings

rom water and dirt. Roll rigidity isincreased.

9.UpperRolls–chiseltoothwithintermittent grab teeth design ecientlygrabs the lumps and then pre-breaks and

eeds material to lower rolls.10.LowerRolls–continuoustoothdesign

rolls grab the pre-crushed product o theupper rolls and reduces material to the

nal desired product size.
