Originally, McLanahan was established as

a foundry operation, but soon began

producing full scale equipment such as

the first Bradford Breakers in 1893. Not long

after, Samuel Calvin McLanahan patented the

first Single Roll Crusher in 1894, setting the

company’s future on a path to become a leading

equipment manufacturer.

Innovation continues today at McLanahan.

The company recently introduced the first

Recessed Plate and Membrane Filter Presses

that are designed, manufactured and serviced

by a U.S. company. This equipment is used to

recover fine solids from slurries and return

useable water to the operation. They have also

recently produced the Rocker Tooth Crusher to

crush large materials into sample size and the

LabMill Crusher, which reduces material to a

size suitable for laboratory testing.

The acquisition of Universal Engineering Corp.

in 2012, also added a line of hard rock

processing equipment. The Universal product

line of equipment consists of Impact Crushers,

Hammermills, Screens, Jaw Crushers, Portable

Plants and Apron, Pan and Wobbler Feeders.

With such a broad range of equipment,

McLanahan is able to offer customers a

complete systems package to meet all of their

needs from design to start up.

EXPANDED PRESENCE & GROWTHAcquisitions, new industry ventures and the

addition of global offices have allowed the

company to expand their market offerings and

become a provider of one of the most complete

equipment ranges in the world. The first major

acquisition was the purchase of HSS Sampling

Equipment in 1998, adding a line of bulk

material sampling systems for mineral

processing. They continued expanding their

existing wet processing equipment line by

purchasing U.S. Linatex Processing Technologies

in 2001, followed by a polymer facility in Florida

in 2008. The most recent acquisition, Universal

Engineering Corp., has brought a large range of

hard rock crushers, feeders and more to

McLanahan’s product line.

In addition to the U.S. based offices in

Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee and Iowa, the

company has also expanded to include offices

across the globe. Since opening its first

international location in Newcastle, Australia in

2003, McLanahan has been able to make a

significant impact on the Australian, Asian and

Pacific Rim markets. The success of this

international office led to the opening of an

office in Southeast England in early 2012 to

serve the European market. Due to the success

of these offices, plans are underway for future

locations in South America and Southern Africa.

MINEXPO 2012This year, McLanahan Corporation will be one of

the many companies displaying at MINExpo

2012 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and

will have two exhibit locations.

The larger of the two locations is Booth 4245.

Here the company will feature full-scale

equipment pieces including a DDC-Sizer, a

Dewatering Screen and Separator combination,

a Sampling System and a Universal Impact

Crusher. McLanahan will also be featuring

newly-launched pieces of equipment including

the LabMill Crusher, the Rocker Tooth Crusher,

and a pilot-size version of the Recessed Plate

Filter Press.

Along with the equipment listed above, the

company will also have additional product lines

represented by 3-D models that showcase

McLanahan’s capabilities in crushing, feed

preparation, washing and water management.

Booth 7626, located on the main show floor in

Central Hall, will have 3-D models of the

Universal equipment line displayed. These will

focus on the product line’s capabilities in

crushing, feeding and screening.
