We have:• More than 48,000 cubic feet of historical records dating

from 1847 to the 1990s, among them photographs, maps,and architectural drawings, created or received by nearly80 Federal agencies, including Federal courts .

We serve:•

Anyone who needs historical information created orreceived by the Federal Government-historians,genealogists, lawyers, scholars, Government officials,environmentalists, students, and others .

Our records are :•

Diverse in content, covering the Rocky Mountain States,including homesteading, mining, Indian agencies,railroads, construction of dams and other reclamationprojects, nuclear energy research, national parks andforests, naturalizations, the home front during WorldWar II, and the proceedings of territorial courts .

Filled with names of notable places, events, and people,among them -Hoover Dam, Yellowstone National Park,Fort-Laramie, Los Alamos, the Denver Mint, and the U .S .Air Force Academy; the Confederate "invasion" of NewMexico, the Homestead Acts, and the Colorado gold rush ;Pueblo Indians, entertainer "Buffalo Bill" Cody, ChiefSitting Bull, and mountain man James Beckwourth .

∎ Unique evidence of the influence of Federal policiesand programs in the Rocky Mountain region .

Our microfilm holdings are:•

Of genealogical interest-Federal population censusesfor all States, 1790-1930 ; some pre-1900 militaryservice and pension records, and bounty land warrantapplications; selected passenger arrival records and ,indexes for vessels arriving at various U .S. ports;some naturalization papers and indexes for Colorado,Montana, and New Mexico; and some Indiancensuses for Colorado, Montana, New Mexico,South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming .

Of general historical interest-Territorial papers ; theMathew Brady Collection of Civil War photographs;German records captured at the end of World War II ;records of U.S. diplomatic missions, the Revolutionaryand Civil Wars, the Government's administration ofIndian affairs, and the U .S. Supreme Court; recordsdocumenting the unexplained loss of Navy flight 19 inthe Bermuda Triangle, 1945; and documentation of theAxis Powers' looting of assets, 1933-45 .

About 6 miles west of downtown Denver . TakeBroadway south to Eighth ; Eighth west to Kalamath ;Kalamath south to West Sixth; West Sixth about5 miles to Kipling; Kipling south to Gate 1 of theDenver Federal Center.

Our microfilm research room is in Building 46.•

Our main facility is in Building 48 .

If you need photocopies:•

For a fee, our staff will make or arrange for copies ofrecords and provide certified copies for legal use .

You can use self-service copiers for a fee to makepaper copies from microfilm .

Self-service copying of original records may beallowed, depending on the condition of the records .

We encourage you to volunteer :•
