Essential Questions • How is written and verbal communication affected by the uses and meanings of regular and
irregular verbs? • When different words in Spanish translate to mean the same thing in English, how do you know
which to use? • In Spanish-speaking countries, why is it so important and necessary to use formal and familiar
language? • The family unit is viewed and treated differently in Spanish-speaking countries, why do these
cultural differences exist?
Enduring Understandings • Beliefs and values may vary from country to country. • The importance of relationships between family members, responsibilities and traditions is
