This past April several enthusiastic
students represented Fresno State
University at the 63rd Annual Na-
tional Student Nurses Association
Convention held in sunny Phoenix,
Arizona! These students had the
opportunity to go beyond the class-
room and clinical experiences to
attend informative general ses-
sions, seminars, workshops, and
insightful presentations.

GOODBYE AND
GOOD LUCK MA! Occasionally we meet someone in our lives who
is exceptional and unforgettable in everyway. On
behalf of CNSA and Fresno State Nursing, we
would like to wish Dr. Mary Ann McCarthy (Ma)
the absolute best as she embarks on a new ad-
venture. You have been that special person who
will always be remembered fondly by everyone
who knows you. May life grant you success and
endless happiness wherever you go.
Hannah Ilano, 4th semester
With Ma leaving, we should focus on the
positive and take this time to reflect on all
the amazing memories we have with her.
Let us focus on her warm welcome into
the program and her role in creating our
nursing family. Focus on all the care and support she
has provided us, from the most trivial issues to the ones
where it seems like everything is falling apart. Ma is
such a beacon of positivity and the best thing we can do
is support her like she has supported us and focus on all
the good. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say
that it has been a privilege to have met Ma. Let us pro-
tect her legacy. Just because she will be gone, it does
not mean that she will be forgotten. So thanks Ma.
Thank you for all the time and dedication youve given
us and this program. And personally, thank you for eve-
rything youve done for me; I wouldnt be here without
your support. We will miss you Ma!

Cooking can be a great way to relieve
stress and take your mind off study-
ing for finals. Why not take a little
study break to whip up these deli-
cious desserts?
COOKIE BUTTER MUG CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup cookie butter
spread
4 tbsp milk (I used fat
free, but other versions
should work)
4 tbsp all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large, microwave-safe mug, add all ingre-
dients in the order listed. Mix with a small whisk
until batter is smooth and no flour lumps remain.
2. Cook in the microwave for about 1 minute and
20 seconds or until cake is cooked.
Cookie butter is probably the best inven-
tion of all time! Its perfect for a quick fi-
nals fix if youre having a craving for
sweets. The main ingredient in this mug
cake, cookie butter, can be found in gro-
cery stores in the isle with other spreads. I
recommend either Biscoff or Trader Joes
brands.
Heres another quick treat thats super
easy. You can even make extra and store
in the freezer for later when you need
brain power to ace those finals!
