Battery shall be charged with alternator having automatic voltage regulation supplied with engine.

A fuel tank is on the unit that will supply fuel for the engine to operate at full load for at least 24 hours. (Capacity 2 2 gal, Consumption rate 97 gal /hr)

Two (2) stage dry type air cleaner with a restriction gauge.

Furnished with the capability for cold weather starting such as electric glow plugs. start 1500 watt, 110 volt heater.

Record the freeze point of the engine antifreeze. (s 'F) Drip pan to catch fuel or oil leaks.

enclosure that does not increase the total width dimension of the unit. The equipment rack is located for easy access but allows accessibility to the engine-generator set for maintenance and operation. Two Diesel generator se ts by Cummins Diesel , 800 Grady Way, Renton Washington, 200 Kva each. The generators are 480Y/277 v o l t u n i t s .

The generators are i n s t a l l e d on t r a i l e r s f a b r i c a t e d f o r the u n i t s . t r a i l e r s have an i n d u s t r i a l c o n t r o l panel enclosure. The enclosure i s a NEMA 4 outdoor r a t e d enclosure. The c o n t r o l panel has a dead f r o n t through which the handles o f a l l c i r c u i t breakers are access ib le .

The c i r c u i t breakers are p roper l y r a t e d and i n s t a l l e d , examined and found t o be c o r r e c t .

The generator n e u t r a l i s i n t e r n a l l y grounded t o t h e generator frame, however t h e generator i s mounted on rubber v i b r a t i o n i s o l a t i o n pads. The neu t ra l ground p o i n t o f t h e generator and t h e t r a i l e r mounted t ransformer must be the same p o i n t .

The procurement s p e c i f i c a t i o n s r e q u i r e t h a t two ground rods ( s i z e was no t spec i f i ed ) and 100 f e e t o f grounding e lec t rode conductor be provided. The grounding e lec t rode conductor and t h e ground rods were no t prov ided w i t h t h e two u n i t s observed.

The acceptance c r i t e r i a c a l l e d f o r r o t a t i o n checks o f t h e t h r e e phase power. A l l t h r e e phase c i r c u i t breakers and receptac les- were checked and found t o have cons is ten t c lockwise r o t a t i o n . However, t h e r o t a t i o n requ i red by t h e ac tua l t h ree phase loads t o be connected was no t evaluated.
