Membership chair Rosemarie Fischer reported that membership in the Riverbay Association has been steadily on the rise over the last five years, going from 176 in 2012 to a current total of 246. This growth in membership speaks to the character of our neighborhood. It's a great place to live! This year everyone sent in their dues during the time requested making the process efficient! Currently we have a positive cash flow close to $6000 as we head into planting season with plans for beautification and upcoming social events. Beautification chairs Mike Berg and Ann Reydel have major plans for the main entrance and Park Avenue median, but are also looking for member help. Be on the lookout for weeding and planting parties plus consider “adopting a corner” near you! Finally, thank you to Dick Pockwinse for volunteering to keep an eye on our flagpole in the quad. Between he and VP Ed Boyce we will keep the flag well-lit and flying high! The Riverbay board needs YOU! Consider joining and volunteering a few hours a month.

Winter Continues in Riverbay!

Last year at this time I had left the comfort of the Community Center treadmill behind and was enjoying the hills of Riverbay. Although lovely to look at, the inconveniences and drag on our infrastructure the snow brings is beginning to wear!

Here’s hoping that “Stella” was our last storm of the year and we are out greeting each other on the roads soon.

I am proud to serve a wonderful community and look forward to meeting you all at our next social on April 29th.

Highlights from the Board

The Riverbay Association Board met February 23, 2017. Association meetings are open to any Riverbay resident. If you would like to attend a quarterly meeting, feel free to contact any board member for date and location.

Membership chair Rosemarie Fischer reported that membership in the Riverbay Association has been steadily on the rise over the last five years, going from 176 in 2012 to a current total of 246. This growth in membership speaks to the character of our neighborhood. It's a great place to live!

Real Estate Corner

It’s been a busy market in Chatham already this year and as I mentioned in my last article, Riverbay remains highly sought after. However, per the new Cape and Islands MLS, there is only one lot on the market in Riverbay as of this writing and no homes at all! Since January 1st:

• 246 Deer Meadow, a parcel of land, is listed at $324,000 and has been on the market for 884 days.

• 257 Round Cove Road listed for $489,000 is under agreement and is expected to close in June.

• 65 Monomoyic listed for $499,900 is under agreement after only 2 days on market!

• 345 Riverview, originally priced at $1,100,000, sold for $925,000 on January 26th after 299 days on market.

• 58 Chipping Stone, originally priced at $518,000 sold for $490,000 on February 17th after 201 days on market.

The lack of transactions is due to a lack of inventory, which translates to a strong sellers’ market in Riverbay! As always, if you have any questions regarding this information, please feel free to contact Carolyn Otis, Riverbay resident
