FAQ’s •  Will the devices have cases? Yes - STM Case •  Will students take their device home? The current plan is that

students will take the devices home if parent or guardian purchases an insurance policy.

•  Will the devices have insurance? $35-50 Policy with one repair and a small deductible for additional repairs.

•  What happens if a device gets broken? A repair will be facilitated with the insurance company.

•  How will the devices be managed? JAMF’s Casper Suite. We will have district level management and building level management.

Academic performance•6th Grade is more rigorous than 5th

•Students WILL need to study for tests and exams

•Students are expected to do more than recall information in class

•Final exams are cumulative

•Study guides may be provided but are NOT copies of the tests

Immunization Requirements for Children Entering 7th Grade Next School Year!!!

  ALL students entering 7th grade next year (2016) will be REQUIRED to have a Tdap and meningococcal vaccine

before entrance to school!  

Please contact your doctor or the health department for an appointment and provide the school with your

child’s updated immunization certificate.

6th Graders can wrestle.

•Attendance Goals •Every Student, Every Day COUNTS!

•We reward good attendance, not just perfect attendance.

•We use positive incentives: Drawings for rewards (special lunches, pizza,

Fun activities & more!) Students missing 15 days or more may be

excluded from field day and other activities.

•Student has 3 days after being absent to bring in a note. (handwritten or via email)

•An absence becomes unexcused if we do not receive a note within these 3 days. (per State

guidelines) •Medical provider notes are always preferred

and should include: • Student name

• Date of office visit • Date(s) student is excused

Cell Phones- Students’ cell phones must be on their desks at all

times if they have them in the classroom.

- Cell phones are to be used for educational purposes as directed by the teacher.

- Absolutely NO use of social media during the school day.

- Not every child can be photographed, so no photography of other students is allowed.

- No ear buds in hallways, cafeteria or classrooms unless approved by teacher during their class time.

Dress code•1. No clothing advertising alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or having

inappropriate language or content. 2. No tank tops, strapless tops or spaghetti straps. Sleeveless shirts must

cover the shoulder. 3. No low, revealing necklines.

4. No shirts exposing the midriff. 5. Back, shoulders and mid-section of the body should be covered at all

times. 6. No shirts with large armhole openings.

7. Shorts, dresses and skirts must be either fingertip length or 5 or less inches above the knee.

8. If wearing leggings or biking shorts, shirts must cover the buttocks and be equally long in the front.

9. No holes that show skin above the knee in any clothing. 10. No hats, visors, sunglasses, chains or spikes. 11. No pajamas except on designated spirit days.

12. Undergarments should never be visible.

Administration has the right to determine appropriateness.

Any clothing that distracts from the educational process will not be allowed.

Failure to comply with the dress code could result in parents being contacted or other

punishments.
