Y 4 Design: Luxury model among marine toilets with hand pumps. Thismodel is one of the best on the market because of its largeproportioned hand pump. The lower part has a very large stabilizedbase allowing this heavy, sturdy model to stand firmly. On account ofits large, smooth surfaces it is also easy to clean and maintain. Thepump and valve body, the base and discharge bell are made of redbrass coated white. All screws, the piston rod and the valve shaft aremade of stainless steel.

Design: This electrically operated toilet Y 8 combines easy handlingwith a high degree of luxury. All used materials (red brass, stainlesssteel) are sea water resistant and very hard- wearing. A hard-wearingchopping pump has been put on a base made of red brass. After useof the foot pedal excrements are chopped by the pump’s shredderand afterwards transported to a sewage tank or outboards. Theonboard fresh water system or an external sea water pump is used toflush the toilet. The operating noise is very low so the toilet may beused during the night. Due to the use of very little wear parts this toiletis almost maintenance free. A cover for the pump unit can bedelivered additionally.

Design: The Y 10 is also an electrically operated toilet with chopperpump and its description is almost the same as the one of the Y 8. Themain difference is its own rinse water pump. Compared to the Y 8 ithas an impeller pump built into the pump unit. When the pedal isoperated rinse water is pumped and the excrements are pumpedaway at the same time. This toilet can pump up rinse water up to 1metre above water line and its vertical rise is 5 metres. Therefore it isideal for higher placed sewage tanks. A cover for the pump unit canbe delivered additionally.

Y 10 S Design: The Y 10 S marine toilet is a top model from the Rheinstromproduct range. It meets your high requirements regarding comfort andoperation fully. The technical construction equals the one of the Y 10model. A bronze rinse water pump has been installed. It runs very quite,is easy to operate and functions optimally. By integration of a rinsewater pump into the sewage pump not only a compact design but alsoa substantial contribution to noise reduction is achieved. The base hasbeen covered with a GRP (glass-fibre reinforced plastic) lid to block outthe remaining noises. The surface of the cover is as smooth as sanitaryporcelain and therefore very easy to clean.

Fields of application: This toilet can be installed above or below waterline and on a sewage tank. It meets high requirements because it is easyto operate and almost maintenance-free. The method of constructionmakes it a hard-wearing toilet which can come into use in the industrialfield or on ships with a large crew.

Y 12The Rheinstrom marine toilet Y 12 offers the best combination of safetyand comfort. The bowl is made of sanitary porcelain and its dimensionsare the same as the ones of a domestic toilet. The porcelain body of thetoilet has four mounting holes as it is usual onboard to ensure stability andsupport. The main difference between the Y 12 and most of the other yachttoilets it the separation of toilet body and pump. The pump is anextremely hard-wearing diaphragm pump made of red brass. It canalmost be mounted as far away as desired (max. 5 m higher, 10 m furtheraway). Therefore there is no technical equipment in the restroom itself.Due to the use of a diaphragm pump this unit works almost noise less. It isoperated by a 2 button wall panel.Operation: Before the toilet is used a small amount of water has to beadmitted into the bowl by pushing the rinse button of the wall panel. Thetoilet is flushed either by the onboard fresh water system or a sea waterpump. After the toilet has been used the second button of the wall panedis pushed and the diaphragm pump pumps the excrements out of thetoilet bowl. Now the bowl can be flushed again. According to the length ofthe disposal outlet hose the duration of the pump time can be chosen. Y 12 - WThis model is equal to Y 12. The only difference is that it is mounted to thewall. Made of high quality sanitary porcelain it gives wet cells a verymodern look. Y 7 Design: This marine toilet Y 7 has been designed for the installationabove water line. The distance between the base of the toilet and thewater line should be at least 200 mm. The 45° seal cap has a pre-stressed spring and is perfectly tight. The emerging stainless steelshaft is sealed with a radial shaft seal. The complete housing is madeof red brass. Rinse water can be pumped manually or electrically.Naturally it is possible to connect the toilet to the onboard watersystem.

Fields of application: Absolutely sea water resistant. Suitable forslow running motor yachts, for passenger shipping, freighters and canbe mounted to sewage tanks. The toilet can be delivered with a smallor large porcelain pan.

We manufacture your tank on request according to your conditions. They are made of polyethylene which is a veryappropriate material for water tanks, diesel tanks and sewage tanks.

Polyethylene (PE) stands out due to:• low weight• no rusting• low noise transmission• neutrality of taste (important for water tanks)• no formation of condensed water

When using stainless steel one has to make sure that only sea water resistant material (V 4 A) is used. There are a lot ofthings to consider when using stainless steel. Only a perfectly manufactured stainless steel tank which is diffusion tightwill last longer than 3 years.

We will need a freehand sketch, a cardboard or wood model, your old tank or a technical draft whatever will be easiestfor you to provide in order to manufacture your desired tank. When planning a tank always consider the room thefittings need. Furthermore it is important to remember that the tank not only fits into its destination but also can be ledthrough the way to get there (hatches, companionways).

Each tank is manufactured according to your specified dimensions. In accordance to the static calculations wash plateswill of course be installed into the tank in the diagonal and lengthwise way while the tank is built. All tanks are pressuretested and certified. Therefore the tank will be guaranteed diffusion tight.

Fittings can be chosen in all common sizes (1/4" – 3"). These can be mounted upright or angular. We recommendsupplying each tank with an inspection lid.

Where to place a sewage tank: A sewage tank can basically be placed anywhere a pump can deliver waste water.Depending on the mounting location it can be installed higher or lower than the toilet. But it is advisable to keep thedistance between the toilet and the tank as short as possible. For this there are various reasons:

• The longer the distance the more rinse water is needed to deliver the waste water to the tank.• The longer the distance the more hose and pipe line have to be installed (expenses).• The longer the distance the higher the risk of excrements being left in the hose or pipe line causing clogging.

If it is possible to install the tank above water line it could be emptied by gravitational force. The waste water would runout of the tank automatically when the sea valve is opened (permitted only outside the 12 SM line).

If the tank is to be installed below water line the disposal of the waste water into the sea (permitted only outside the 12SM line) has to be conducted by a separate pump.

It has to be made sure that no waste water will be left in the hose and pipe line system. When the hose and pipe linesystem is installed „hollows“ have to be avoided, because they are a good place for waste water to cause clogging andodour nuisance.

Size of the tank: This must be the most difficult question for any ship owner. The ship owner must answer this questionhimself, but there are a few helpful facts to consider. A person uses the toilet approximately 2- 3 times a day.Considering the model of the toilet and the distance to the tank between 5 – 8 litres (S) per use are needed.

Now the following calculation can be applied:

Number of persons (P) x number of uses/person (B) x number of days onboard (T) = total number of use (G)

P x B x T = G G x S = needed tank capacity


The Rheinstrom sewage pump T has especially been designed for theinstallation into sewage tanks. All parts are made of sea water resistantmaterials and are maintenance-free. The pump has to be installed from thetop. The pump’s techniques are the same as the shredding technique(macerator). A shredding wheel chops up the excrements and pumps themout via a centrifugal wheel. You can choose from three different standardsizes (200 mm/400mm/600mm) and special sizes on request. It is notself-priming and therefore it must be installed eitherat the lowest part of the tank or lower than the tankitself. FS 370The Rheinstrom sewage pump FS 370 is a big, very hardwearing macerator pump which is suitable forcontinuous operation. It is not self-priming andtherefore it must be installed either at the lowest part ofthe tank or lower than the tank itself. MThe sewage pump M is a self-priming diaphragm pump. It workswithout a shredder. Even bigger solids can be conveyed withoutdamaging the pump because of the lip valves which have beeninstalled. The self-locking valves make the pump non-reactive, i.e. itcan be mounted to the side standing, hanging or sideways. The intakeand discharge bent is revolving. This is necessary for betterconnecting possibilities of the suction and pressure hoses. The suctionand pressure connections usually go from left to right. They can easilybe changed, if the suction way should go from right to left or from thebottom to the top. All parts which come into contact with water can beordered in red brass or aluminium. The pump can be delivered with a12 V or 24 V motor.

M 60 K

The RHEINSTROM sewage pump M 60 K is a self-primingdiaphragm pump used to transport sewage from a sewagetank or as an on land unit. It is made of high grade bronze andequipped with heavy ball retaining valves. All other partswhich come into contact with the conveying means are madeof sea water resistant materials such as stainless steel andbronze. The pump is naturally self-priming when dry,nonreactive to running dry and applicable for continuousoperation.The pump has to be mounted in an upright position to enablethe ball retaining valves to close automatically. So the pumpcan convey bigger solid materials, e.g. rags.

Hot water- anywhere, anytime from the cooling system of the motor boat engine.The Rheinstrom hot water tanks offer the greatest possible comfort even when the use of energy is low. They supply hotwater during the trip and keep it warm for a period of 24 hours after the end of the trip which is typical for Rheinstromhot water tanks.

Design: Maintenance-free, very heavy walled, pressure checked V4A vessel which comes in 7 sizes to be adaptable todemands and possibilities. The unit can be run on low energy by using an additional electric heating (0.5 KW – 3 KW)because in many tests the isolation has been optimized. This shell comes naturally with an overheating protection (230V connection).The safety valve which has been installed into the cold water area of the vessel has been checked by theTechnical Inspection Agency.

Fields of operation: On ships with water cooled motors the hot water tank is installed into the cooling system. Theheating-up time of the tank depends on the power of the motor and the lengths of the pipes. Due to the thought-outdesign the installation is very easy. A drilling pattern comes with each station. We deliver hot water tanks starting froma size of 10 litres in a lying design. The fittings of this tank are rotating and easy to shift so that the tank can easily beinstalled on the bottom, on the side and on the top.

Design: Water heater, which can be installed in a standingor lying position. The water is heated by a heating coil(1/2" connection) rapidly. When the heater is installed in alying position the cold water connection (1/2") has to beturned down and the hot water exit up. All connections areon the top when the heater is installed in a standingposition.

Any heating cartridge (0.5 KW – 3 KW) we deliver can beinstalled. The operating pressure is 4 Bar. In the cold waterarea there is safety valve which has been checked by theTechnical Inspection Agency.

HZK 15 to 140This series is equipped with a solid isolation, which guarantees aheat-storage of at least 24 hours. In comparison with other boilerson the market this boiler achieves the best utilization coefficientby using considerable longer heat exchanger.Sizes from 15 l – 115 l.

Special designs can be custom-built if demanded, e.g. installationof a second and third heating coil in order to hook up two motors,a generator or electric water heater. The useof a freely running impeller wheel and a very modern axial faceseal make this pump almost completely maintenance-free. Themotor is suitable for continuous operation.
