• Benefits– Improve productivity (as much as 80%)– Read from any orientation– Read from behind closed doors– Reads accurate data – Time stamps read time– Identifies area location–Adjust read range–Enter individual Tag # for single part detection
• Active RFID Tags / Reader– Battery life of 5 years– Can transmit information up to 50+ feet– Good reliability– HP hand held Ipaq
• Other Additions to Application
– Put readers at choke points
•Readers can be deployed at exits and entrances to determine movement of assets

RFID Challenges ?RFID Challenges ?
Recognizing 5 Main Phases of Technology
• Making the technology work; RFID is currently in the phase of initial deployment
• Making it manageable; this is when you begin to derive significant business benefits from RFID
• Making it essential; RFID will move from useful to “must-have” in supply chain operations based on proven value
• Making it ubiquitous; RFID appears everywhere within the organization
• Making it transparent; RFID is fully accepted as a technology and no longer noticed
