Revelation13:1(ESV)AbovepictureO/H!AndIsawabeastrisingoutofthesea,withtenhornsandsevenheads,withtendiademsonitshornsandblasphemousnamesonitsheads.Interpretation:Asthispictureindicates,thingsareverydifferentintheBookofRevelation.Thus,themostliteralinterpretationandthemostliteralrepresentationprovidethemostclarityoftheheavenlysignsinC.12&13.Therefore,inC.12wewillseethatthewomanrepresentsIsrael,thechildrepresentsChrist,andthedragonrepresentsSatan.Revelation12:1–6(ESV)Andagreatsignappearedinheaven:awomanclothedwiththesun,withthemoonunderherfeet,andonherheadacrownoftwelvestars.2Shewaspregnantandwascryingoutinbirthpainsandtheagonyofgivingbirth.3Andanothersignappearedinheaven:behold,agreatreddragon,withsevenheadsandtenhorns,andonhisheadssevendiadems.4Histailsweptdownathirdofthestarsofheavenandcastthemtotheearth.Andthedragonstoodbeforethewomanwhowasabouttogivebirth,sothatwhensheboreherchildhemightdevourit.5Shegavebirthtoamalechild,onewhoistoruleallthenationswitharodofiron,butherchildwascaughtuptoGodandtohisthrone,6andthewomanfledintothewilderness,whereshehasaplacepreparedbyGod,inwhichsheistobenourishedfor1,260days.

Satanisapowerfulfallenangelwith1/3ofalltheangelsfollowinghim.Satan’sdesireistodestroythemalechild,Christ.Inthisheavenlysign,weseeChristasthe“onewhoistorulethenationswitharodofiron”andwascaughtupintoheaven,atHISresurrection.NoticeitdidnotidentifyChristastheonewhowastoredeemman,butJesusisidentifiedastheone,“whowillreturntorulewitharodofiron!”Christ'sredemptivepromiseshavebeenfulfilled.NowChristexercisesHISauthoritytoeradicateevilandrestoretheearthintheBookofRevelation.The1,260daysissignificant.Withaliteralinterpretation,weseethe“continuity”ofIsraelasanationandbeingprotectedfor1,260days.ThisisalsothesameperiodoftimeastheministryofthetwowitnessesinRev.11:3.AlsothisisthesametimeframereferencedinDan.7:25,9:27,12:7,Rev.11:2-3,13:5.TheemergenceandprominenceofIsraelisconsistentwithOTprophecies,Zech.12:2-3.Zechariah12:2–3(ESV)O/H2“Behold,IamabouttomakeJerusalemacupofstaggeringtoallthesurroundingpeoples.3OnthatdayIwillmakeJerusalemaheavystoneforallthepeoples.TheBookofRevelationiscontemporaryandtherehasalwaysbeenaclashofgoodandevil,butduringtheGreatTribulation,itintensifies!

Revelation12:7–9(ESV)7Nowwararoseinheaven,Michaelandhisangelsfightingagainstthedragon.Andthedragonandhisangelsfoughtback,8buthewasdefeated,andtherewasnolongeranyplacefortheminheaven.9Andthegreatdragonwasthrowndown,thatancientserpent,whoiscalledthedevilandSatan,thedeceiverofthewholeworld—hewasthrowndowntotheearth,andhisangelswerethrowndownwithhim.Satanandhisangelsarekickedoutofheavenandheavenrejoices.Satanisfuriousandwilltakeallhisangeroutontheinhabitantsoftheearth!Revelation12:10–12(ESV)10AndIheardaloudvoiceinheaven,saying,“NowthesalvationandthepowerandthekingdomofourGodandtheauthorityofhisChristhavecome,fortheaccuserofourbrothershasbeenthrowndown,whoaccusesthemdayandnightbeforeourGod.11AndtheyhaveconqueredhimbythebloodoftheLambandbythewordoftheirtestimony,fortheylovednottheirlivesevenuntodeath.12Therefore,rejoice,Oheavensandyouwhodwellinthem!Butwoetoyou,Oearthandsea,forthedevilhascomedowntoyouingreatwrath,becauseheknowsthathistimeisshort!”Thisconflict“intensifies”duringTheTribulation!

downtotheearth,hepursuedthewomanwhohadgivenbirthtothemalechild.14Butthewomanwasgiventhetwowingsofthegreateaglesothatshemightflyfromtheserpentintothewilderness,totheplacewheresheistobenourishedforatime,andtimes,andhalfatime.Again,thetimeframeoftheGreatTribulationof“atime,andtimes,andhalfatime”isidentifiedwhichrelatesbacktoDaniel7:25,9:27,12:7andalsocorrespondstoRev.13:5;theBeast,theAnti-Christ.

Satancontinueshisattackonthewoman(Israel)andheroffspring!Heroffspringarethosewhohaverespondedtotheministryofthe144,000andthetwowitnesseswhoalreadybeenhaveidentified.ThesearetheonlyevangelistsrecordedinRevelation!

Revelation12:15–17(ESV)15Theserpentpouredwaterlikeariveroutofhismouthafterthewoman,tosweepherawaywithaflood.16Buttheearthcametothehelpofthewoman,andtheearthopeneditsmouthandswallowedtheriverthatthedragonhadpouredfromhismouth.17Thenthedragonbecamefuriouswiththewomanandwentofftomakewarontherestofheroffspring,onthosewhokeepthecommandmentsofGodandholdtothetestimonyofJesus.

NowwewillseetherevelationoftheUnholyTrinity:Satan,Anti-Christ,andtheFalseProphet.ThisisSatan’salloutattackoneverythingHolytoGod.TheBookofRevelationiscontemporaryandwehavewitnessedglimpsesofsimilarattacksthroughouttheages,butnowithasintensifiedculminatingduringtheGreatTribulation.
