God’s Two Witnesses

A Satanic CelebrationRev. 11:1-14

introduces us to:

I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there.

Rev. 11:1

But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles.

They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. Rev. 11:2

Luke 21:24 …and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed

in sackcloth. Rev. 11:3

1,260 days = 31/2 years = 42 months

Sack Cloth is black goat

The Two Witnesses Prophesy the First Half of the Tribulation Period

Four reasons the first half of the tribulation period is the only time that makes sense for their ministry

1. The antichrist is given power to overcome the saints in the second half of the trib. period

2. The whole world is familiar with these witnesses and is united together in disdain toward them

3. The lines are drawn early in the last 31/2 years as to which mark has been taken, God’s or

the Anti-Christ

Historical Identification of the Two Witnesses1. Symbolic – The Old and New Testament2. Moses and Elijah3. John the Baptist and Elijah4. Enoch and Elijah

Who are the front runners?

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Mal. 4:5

Luke 1:21 - And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias , to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Matt. 11:14 - And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. 15 He who has ears, let him hear.

4. The whole world rejoices at their death. If the 1260 days of the two witnesses were at the end of the tribulation there wouldn’t be the

worldwide unity. (War, judgments, death – man has become a rare item)

These are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands that stand before the Lord of the

earth. Rev. 11:5

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must

die. Rev. 11:5

Pregunta

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must

die. Rev. 11:5

How does this verse indicate the church is no where around?

These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time

they are prophesying;

and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as

they want. Rev. 11:6

Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.

Rev. 11:7

Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. Rev. 11:8

For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.

Rev. 11:9

The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other

gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

Rev. 11:10

But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood

on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Rev. 11:11

Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they

went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. Rev. 11:12

At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed.

Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Rev. 11:13

The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon. Rev. 11:14

The first woe was a plague of locust from the abyss

The second woe was the 200,000 million army

The third woe is released by the seventh trumpet
