Trips and ActivitiesPGE Retiree Annual Spring LuncheonMark Your Calendar for Friday, May 19, 2017
This year’s PGE Retiree 37th Annual Spring Luncheon (sponsored by PGE) will be held on FRIDAY, May 19, at the Monarch Hotel and Convention Center, 12566 SE 92nd Avenue, Clackamas. It is located off SE Sunnyside, west of I‑205, near the Clackamas Town Center. Note the change from Thursday to Friday!
Dates to remember:
• Friday, May 12: Last day to return the RSVP. As soon as you receive your invitation, fill it out and return it. Space is limited, so limit the number of guests to one and remember to put the name of your guest on the RSVP.
• Monday, May 15: Last day to cancel by contacting one of the committee members listed below. We don’t want to pay for lunches for people who aren’t there to eat them!
• Tuesday, May 16: Last day to contact one of the committee members if you or your guest have a special dietary need so they can make special arrangements with the hotel. The hotel cannot honor special diet requests on the day of the luncheon.
• Friday, May 19: See you at the Spring Luncheon! Doors open at 11 a.m. for gathering and meeting old friends. Lunch served at noon. Limited disabled parking is available at the south end of the hotel.
Many thanks to luncheon committee members, Russ Bailey (503‑632‑5423), Ed and Phyllis Miska (503‑636‑6052), and Pat Thompson ([email protected]) for their great job of organizing this lunch.

Blood driveMark your calendars for the next blood drives:
May 17 Aug. 9 Nov. 29
Volunteers are a necessary part of our blood drives. Here’s why. They:
• Work from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.• Staff the registration table and canteen area.• Check in the pre‑registered donors.• Ensure donors have the required Red Cross
reading material.• Give donors a number and direct them to the
waiting area. • Make reminder phone calls if donors don’t appear
for their appointment (sometimes people just forget or need to cancel).
• Give donors juice or water and a snack in the canteen area.
• Ask donors if they would like to pre‑register for the next blood drive and choose a time slot that meets their schedule.
Our heartfelt thanks to Jeanette Mullins, Linda Reed, Stan Chiotti and Bob Steele for volunteering at these blood drives for years. And we welcome our newest volunteer, Jim Rodman!
