Company: AMG Surveys Title: Magnetic Surveyor
AMG Surveys was established as a small company in September 2007 to make modern simple ground based magnetic
survey technology readily available to the SA exploration industry. More than 30 contracts to date for a wide range of
companies. The role has exposed me to over a dozen exploration companies and a large range of target commodities in
programs at all stages of development from prospect evaluation to resource definition and environmental
rehabilitation. Key aspects include
- no major health and safety incidents
- established business model
- sourced, modified and maintained equipment and contactors
- partnerships with established services companies
- operational protocols including but not limited to
- remote work procedures for health and safety (including travel)
- financial procedure and account keeping

Company: AsIs International Title: Consulting Geophysicist
Project generation to target evaluation, as the principal consulting geophysicist I offered a wide range of geophysical
products and services to clients in the mineral exploration industry. Projects involved exploration at all stages on all
scales for multiple clients simultaneously. The role required assessment of project scale and urgency, as well as ranking
and prioritizing outcomes. A large set of adaptable skills was utilised and developed on a day to day basis. Projects
located across the state, country and (international) region with targets including the entire range of economic mineral
commodities. Key aspects include
- working independently and part of small teams (including supervisor)
- compilation of comprehensive desktop studies including summarising all current available geophysical and geological (inc. geochemical) data and reports
- designing, costing and contracting geophysical work programs including all geophysical methods
- supervision of geophysical surveys and QA/QC, processing, formatting and distribution of resulting data
- processing and interpretation of geophysical data incorporating geological information in a collaborative effort with clients to generate and rank targets and suggest drill-hole locations
- writing detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings for third party review
- obtaining and maintaining client relationships
Date: 2004 - 2006
Company: Flinders Diamonds Ltd Title: Geophysicist
As the geophysicist on the Flinders Ranges Project I was charged with the implementation of the field based
exploration program, management of data and geophysical database including classification and ranking of targets and
continued development of the genetic model used for interpretation and ranking. The role included managing remote
based exploration staff numbering up to three for campaign based periods. During my involvement I was able to
improve methodologies to increase the ratio of targets tested/kimberlites discovered, provide a safer working
environment and decrease environmental impact of geological sampling. These improvements helped to significantly
increase the number of kimberlites identified and sampled in a calendar year.
- implementing field based exploration program
- managing and analysing company data
- reporting of results
- improvement of safety and environmental impact
- writing geophysical field procedures
