PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2006 – Current Continuous Improvement Implementation Specialist1994 - 2001
The Powers Company
Worked on-site at clients’ facilities with executives, middle management, supervisors and hourly team members to develop and implement Master Scheduling and detailed departmental schedules using ERP methodology, master sequencing and line balancing to improve product flow between all production areas to maximize productivity (production lines, manpower) in 8 food processing facilities, resulting in recurring annual cost savings of 20 to 35% at each site. Clients included: Cargill Value Added Meats, Highliner Foods
Centris Consulting
Effectively designed and implemented a total Organizational Realignment to support successful installation of ERP software (SAP) at a large DoD facility in Corpus Christi, TX. Trained the Business Process Transformation Team and Expert Users on the concepts of ERP and Master Data Management (set-up and maintenance) in a highly regulated (Safety of Flight) facility (military helicopters and parts overhaul / rebuild).
Celerant Consulting
Developed and implemented detailed schedules for highly automated packaging lines in an FDA compliant pharmaceutical mixing and packaging plant in Norwich, NY, that provided real-time (updated hourly) schedules to Management, Production Planning and the shop floor. Developed and implanted process and procedures for S & OP with Sales, Plant and Production Management personnel.
Developed and implemented shop floor controls for timely evaluation of operational performance to plan in a packaging department of a food (salt) processor at their Rittman, OH, plant. Developed Standard Work metrics and KPIs for hourly shop floor
follow-up and corrective action. Implemented maintenance management principles including Preventative Maintenance programs, predictive maintenance, FMEA and Standard Work metrics.
Ritchie and Associates
Developed Standard Work metrics with employees, supervisors and department managers and implemented performance control systems in a GMP food processing plant in Alsip IL. Trained managers and supervisors to communicate new expectations and follow up to identify barriers to acceptable performance, resulting in a 33% increase in throughput with no additional labor costs. As a part of this initiative, master product sequences were developed with scheduling personnel to minimize downtime due to complete line sanitizing.
Line balanced poultry processing lines at a Kosher foods production plant in eastern Pennsylvania, the only poultry plant in the U.S. that processes both turkeys and chickens. USDA compliant plant with USDA personnel on the processing line.
