Respect & Care Responsibility Inclusion, Tolerance & Understanding Excellence Dear parents, grandparents and friends, Assembly Our students continue to enjoy the virtual assemblies on Webex events each week. We will continue to hold assemblies in this way for the rest of the term. Students at school will watch the assembly on the screens in the classroom, while students at home (and parents) can view remotely. Today the staff shared another video, to reassure our students (in the words of Bob Marley) that Every little thing is gonna be alright. We are all looking forward to seeing our students again! Return to school process As you are aware, we are entering a transition period where we will finally have all students back on site by 9 th June. Just a reminder to families that next Monday, 25 th June will be a day for staff preparation and organisation. NO students will be required to be learning next Monday. There will be no onsite supervision for students on Monday. School will have some different processes, and you will have received more detail rgarding these pro- cesses via email. Some changes students will notice at school include regular hand sanitising throughout the day and minimising of resource shar- ing. Students will be able to play on the playground and use sports equipment. Increased and enhanced cleaning will occur throughout the day, particularly to high touch areas. We will not have lunch orders or sharing of food such as birthday cakes for the rest of this term and will reassess then. We will be unable to have parent volunteers helping us in the school for a while, which we are very sad about! We are commit- ted to having as few adults (who are not staff members) on site and in the buildings as possible. Thanks for your understanding! While youve been at home.......... Some exciting things have taken place around the school while the students have been at home. Firstly, our oval is looking love- ly and green! It will be great to have a green place for students to run and play! Secondly, the classrooms in the 1/2 and 2/3 classrooms have been recarpeted. What a difference this has made. The rooms are ready for our return! Here are some before and after photos: Building Program We have been working with the Victorian Schools Building Authority towards making our school inclu- sive to all students regardless of abilities. This week the contractor, Johns Lyng Group, has been ap- pointed to carry out the building works. This will begin soon, and take place until approximately mid term 3. The works include modifications to several rooms and doorways, ramp to the artroom, a new ramp to the large playground and wet pour rubber to both playgrounds. Several smaller modifications will be made to areas on the asphalt. These works will make our school more accessible to people of all ages and abilities. We have been advised that the works will be done in stages to minimise disruption. We will let you know more as we find out details. Respect & Care Responsibility Inclusion, Tolerance & Understanding Excellence Dear parents, grandparents and friends,

Assembly

Our students continue to enjoy the virtual assemblies on Webex events each week. We will continue to hold

assemblies in this way for the rest of the term. Students at school will watch the assembly on the screens in the

classroom, while students at home (and parents) can view remotely.

Today the staff shared another video, to reassure our students (in the words of Bob Marley) that ‘Every little

thing is gonna be alright.” We are all looking forward to seeing our students again!

Return to school process

As you are aware, we are entering a transition period where we will finally have all students back on site

by 9th June. Just a reminder to families that next Monday, 25th June will be a day for staff preparation and

organisation. NO students will be required to be learning next Monday.

There will be no onsite supervision for students on Monday.

School will have some different processes, and you will have received more detail rgarding these pro-

cesses via email.

Some changes students will notice at school include regular hand sanitising throughout the day and minimising of resource shar-

ing.

We are commit-

ted to having as few adults (who are not staff members) on site and in the buildings as possible. Thanks for your understanding!

While you’ve been at home..........

Some exciting things have taken place around the school while the students have been at home. Firstly, our oval is looking love-

ly and green! It will be great to have a green place for students to run and play!

Secondly, the classrooms in the 1/2 and 2/3 classrooms have been recarpeted. What a difference this has made. The rooms are ready for our return! Here are some before and after photos:

7 silver certificates this week!

Congratulations to all the students pictured here for achieving a silver certificate.

Reports

This semester, reports will look different to usual. Given the very unusual semester we have experienced, the re-

ports will be modified to reflect this. We will be sending home more details next week regarding reports. Teachers

will continue to assess as they teach over the transition period. For those students in grades 3-6, some more formal

assessments will be included in the learning packs over the next two weeks.

Pupil-free learning day

Our school council has approved a student-free professional learning day for staff on the last day of term 2, Friday 26th June.

We were forced to cancel our previous day with Numeracy consultant, Andrea Hillbrick earlier this term. We still need to do

this important professional learning in order to springboard our teaching of Numeracy into term 3. Thanks for your understand-

ing. The term will finish for all students on Thursday 25th June and begin on Tuesday 14th July.

Enrolments

Our prep enrolments for 2021 are filling. If you are intending to enrol a child in prep next year, please

download and complete and return the enrolment forms on our website. Alternatively, please contact us at

school. We are preparing to send offers of places to students other than siblings and those in our zone.

Natalie Toohey

Principal

Congratulations Rohan on a Gold and Silver certificate
