to feel that they are being

The candidate who is the most
worthy based on the merit should get
the opportunity irrespective of his
caste, creed and religion.

STs (scheduled tribes) are the tribes that
are not confined to the HINDUISM.
SCs ( scheduled caste) are the lower
castes in the caste hierarchy of the HINDUculture.
Article 46 of Indian Constitution:-
Educational and economic interests of the
weaker section of the people(SCs and
STs) should be preserved and shall protect
them from social in justice and all form of
exploitation.

Reservations were introduced in the lastdecades of 19th century when thesubcontinent was divided into British Indiaand 600 princely states.
The princely states were determined in theadvancement of the minorities and deprivedsection of the society and hence reservationpolicies came into existence .
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar made certainarrangements for the backward classes toallow them to enjoy a humane lifestyle andbring their upliftment in the political field.

many states of India and this includes the SCs
, STs and the OBCs.
Since economic status is not a test used,undeserving people gain the advantages and

favor of reservations in higher education and
government services for the other backward
classes of India.The current slogan in India is seems to be
abolish reservation because merit and

Caste Based : caste is decided based onbirth, and can never be changed. A personcan change his religion, and his economicstatus can fluctuate, the caste ispermanent.
Management Quota:- it is quota basedon economic status irrespective of caste,race and religion; anybody who has money
can buy his\her seat. Gender Based:- the womens reservation
bill was passed by Rajya Sabha on 9th march2010.

Religion based:- government says thatthis sub-quota is based on the
backwardness of the religious communities
and not on the religious themselves. State of Domicile:- most of the jobs
under state government are reserved to
those who are domiciles under that
government.

our country?
Reservation is diluting the quality of
education!Many capable candidates are today denied
opportunity simply because of shortage of
seats.
India does not have the money and resourcesto increase the no of seats in our professional
colleges.

reveal the truth about their parents income
and get scholarship for education that they
wouldnt get normally.The government wants to give opportunities
to the backward castes to earn salaries like
IIT & IIM graduates but this should not
happen at the cost of the quality ofeducation.

family, that is salary of husband and wife,
and income derived from all other sources
like gifts and income from joint familyproperty.
The benefit of the reservation for only first 2
children of the family.
Creation of online database so every Indianwill know which family is enjoying the
benefits of reservation in education or job or

Taking into consideration all the points we
can conclude that reservation were
introduced into the Indian education system
as means for the overall development of the
society.
However, today all the sections of the
society have been developed economically,
culturally and socially. Hence, the need for the reservation is
limited.

Complete elimination of the reservation is
not possible considering the current political
scenario.
Hence reservation should be provided to thepeople who really need it and those people
should be tracked regularly.
