Conclusions
• Up-take of new technologies (innovation diffusion) is key for a fair
& green economic transformation: cross-sectoral cooperation as
part of adaptation to technological change
• Comprehensive, place-based policy packages needed:
Strengthen Smart Specialisation Strategies beyond R&I
(digitalisation, skills, cooperation along value chains)
• Strategic public investment, not only in physical assets, but in
intangibles, software, IP, firm-level skills, advanced services …
• Reinforce governance of smart specialisation:
Accountable body, role of Entrepreneurial Discovery Process as an
ongoing process
• Mutual involvement in governance of other EU:
Teaming up around S3 priorities along value chains – matching with
HE, DEP, SMP priorities
• Get involved in public consultations on HE / DEP strategic orientations, GBER revision, and in EDP
Thank you!
