Research and planning. For the research and planning for my magazine I have researched into the current magazine, media and music industries. I researched into current fashions and popularities within each of these areas and the gaps in the current markets. This includes magazine types and house styles, the likes and dislikes of magazine features, popular music genres and connotations and likes with these genres and its fans. The research methods included internet research, questionnaires, focus groups and individual research into modern and popular music magazines. I have analysed some of these in the attempt of finding popular aspects and elements that makes a successful music magazine. As I began deciding and developing ideas for my magazine I began looking into similar music magazine in order to develop these ideas. Once deciding on appropriate target markets and genres that would attract new readers of a new music magazine, I also enquired into new ideas and features that people (readers) would like to see featured in a new music magazine of this genre and target market. I also began researching into appropriate publishers of my magazine. I carried out all of these tasks, research and planning in order to design and create a successful and sought music magazine that is not currently found on the market. I then began sketching out designs for my music magazine based on all of the results I had concluded from my research. Therefore have and will use ideas, inspiration and evidence found from other magazines in order to create my magazine. For example, popular house styles, colour schemes and layouts that attract relevant readers to my music magazine. I will have decided on an appropriate publisher for my music magazine. I will incorporate the likes and new ideas resulted from my questionnaire and focus group into my magazine cover, contents page and
