CPS/Northwestern Student Health Leaders ProgramFinal Workshop (Saturday, March 21st) Postponed!
Since January, CFAAR has been hosting the CPS/Northwestern Student HealthLeaders Program for 100 CPS high school students in the Chicagoland area. The
program consists of four half-day Saturday workshops with a goal of helping studentsbecome empowered health advocates by educating their peers on issues seen in
their school and greater neighborhood communities.
This amazing group of students have had the opportunity to meet and work with theirpeers from all over the city, create educational PSAs on topics that they believe are
the most relevant to high school students, and have worked on personal andprofessional goal setting to hone their skills and pursue their passions. Each student
accepted into the program has expressed pursuing a health-related career in the

future, and they have been hard at work bringing their ideas to improve healtheducation and awareness in their schools to life.
During their final workshop, the students will be presenting the educational PSAsthey've created, and will be showcasing their individual projects through a poster
session. The final workshop was scheduled for this Satuday, March 21st, butwill be postponed to ensure all students' and attendees' safety in light of the
recent COVID-19 developments.
However, still plan to host this workshop in the coming months to highlight all of theincredible work the students have done during their time in the program!

Every summer, we invite 8-15 high school, undergraduate, graduate andmedical students to join our research team to strengthen their skills inepidemiological, clinical and community-based research. The students assistwith various ongoing food allergy and asthma projects on the team and are ableto conduct and shadow study enrollments, practice recruiting participants forstudies, work with our statisticians to interpret the data analysis for the team,and contribute to scientific manuscript writing on our study outcomes. Thestudents also attend weekly didactic sessions to learn from our team memberson various research and medicine topics.
