ABSTRACTThe "Career Explorations" and "From College To Career"
programs are both evening outreach programs in which sons and daughters ofIBM employees are invited to the IBM Somers location to learn about careersand preparing for the job market. All sessions feature IBM employeepresenters talking about the work they do. The "Career Explorations" programis intended for high school students in grades 9 through 12 and runs duringan academic year. Neighboring high schools are invited to partner with us inthis program by identifying additional students (not sons and daughters ofIBM employees) that would benefit from such a program and coordinating theirstudents' participation. The "From College To Career" program is intended forcollege students who are home for the summer months. Additionally, co-opstudents in the area for the summer months are also invited to participate.This paper outlines both the "Career Explorations" and the "From College ToCareers" programs and provides a "How To" guide for others wanting toinitiate such a program.
