Mission and Vision

Career guidance helps to equip students to survive

in the highly competitive world of today. It conducts

coaching programmes targeted at the various competitive examinations

and invites experts to deliver talks that strengthen student's awareness

of career possibilities. A very active Training and Placement Cell is

functioning in the college. The cell extends full support to the students

for placement. It conducts coaching classes free of cost for various

competitive examinations conducted by UPSC, PSC, scheduled banks

etc. TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, MRF and other corporate units conduct

campus recruitment every year.

Placement drive The college placement cell and Wipro jointly organized a

placement drive on 27. 03. 2019 specifically for final year

BCA/B.Sc. students. Thirty students from different col-

leges in the district attended it.

ing Software on 13 March 2019.

DISHA-2017

Disha 2017 is a mega job fair jointly organized by the Placement Cell,

T.K.M. College of Arts and Science and Kollam Employability Centre

on 26. Aug. 2017. This opulent event was inaugurated by the

Honourable Minister J. Mercykutty Amma. Adv. V. Rajendra Babu,

Mayor, Kollam presided the function. Prof. A. Hashimudeen, Principal,

T.K.M. College of Arts and Science, offered felicitation. Out of the

1634 candidates who attended the mega job fair, 507 were shortlisted.

Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs)

The Spoken Tutorial Project The Spoken Tutorial Project was developed by IIT Bombay for

MHRD, Govt of India. In connection with this project, IIT-Bombay

provides several fruitful online courses for college students all over

India. Thirteen students of the final year B.sc Mathematics have suc-

cessfully completed two courses (LaTex, Geogebra) of the spoken

tutorial project.

'Disha 2016' is a mega job fair jointly organized by

the Employment Exchange, Kollam and T.K.M.C.A.S.

Placement Cell. The flamboyant programme was

inaugurated by the Honourable Minister J. Mercykutty Amma

in the presence of T.K.M Trust President

Janab Shahal Hassan Musaliar who also presided the

function. 3653 candidates registered in the job fair.

Offer letters were sent to1083. Fifty reputed companies

from different parts of Kerala participated this

Programme to select candidates. In fact, 'Disha 2016‘

has turned out to be a real blessing to the unemployed youth.

Training and placement cell of the

degree students on 10th December 2016. The program handled by

Ms:Claudette Lambert, Communicative English trainer.

Campus recruitment for Probationary Clerk-Cum-cashier in

Catholic Syrian Bank. 146 candidates have registered for, and 139

were participated in the online examination held on 7th June 2015. 12

candidates were selected for Personal Interview and Two of them

selected as Probationary Clerk in Catholic Syrian Bank

Placement Drive

Campus recruitment programme conducted by ICICI Bank at

TKMCAS for the post of Probationary Officer (Sales). 320 candidates

have registered for the programme, and 306 were participated in the

examination held on 13th June 2015. 180 candidates were selected for

Personal Interview and 98 candidates were selected Probationary

Officer (Sales) in ICICI Bank.

Placement Drive

Tata Consultancy Service (T C S) conducted a campus recruitment

programme at T K M College of arts and Science on 02-07-2015. 90

candidates have registered for the programme, and 72 were

participated in the online examination held on 2nd July 2015. 42 can-

didates were selected for Personal Interview and 8 candidates were

placed in T C S.

Career guidance

Training and placement cell TKMCAS organized a carrier

guidance program for final year degree students on 5th December

2015.The program handled by Sajith. The program covered many

career related issues in contemporary job market.

Action Plan 2019-20

•To conduct online courses of IIT-Bombay as per a

special time table, and to include 50% students of the

institution to it.

•To conduct a special training programme under the

auspices of the departments of English and Mathematics

for final year students to improve their communicative

skill and mathematical aptitude. For this, 100 students

would be selected from different disciplines on the basis

of a selection test .

•To organize more placement drives of reputed companies

across the nation
