YouquicklylearninAfricayouhavetobeRFA“readyforanything”andnothingeverquitegoestoplan.OurflightstoGhanawerefineandpunctual.Macmetusattheairportandwestayedinaguesthousenearhishousethefirstnight.Weweresuppedtoleaveat5.30amtocontinueourjourneytoHosowecouldbegintheconferenceby10am.ThedriverMachadarrangedtotakeus,hadto“attendtosomeotherbusiness”first,soweeventuallyleftat10:30am.Thismeantwedidn'tgetstarteduntiltheafternoon.Alsothingsdidn’tseemtobesowellorganisedonthegroundinHoandsonumbersweremuchsmallerthisyear.

GoodConversationsThesmallernumbersallowedushaveplentyoftimetointeractwiththoseattendingtheconference.Thosepresentwereverykeenandattentive.Eachofthe3fulldayswewouldbearriveat8amandnotleaveuntilaround6pm.Wewouldbeteachingforaround4hourseach,pluslotsofotherindividualconversations.Itwashot,andwewerealsointerruptedbyseveralheavyrainstorms.

GoodWorkshopsonExodusOurmainbookofstudythisyearwasExodus.Ivangave3expositions,andthenwesplitintoworkshopstowalkthemthroughhowtoprepareasermononExodus3(theburningbush),12(ThePassover),andthe10thCommandment.Asnumbersweresmalleritmeantthegroupsweremuchmoremanageableandwecouldmakethemveryinteractive.Itwasgreattoseethemthinkingaboutthetextcarefully.

NumbersIncreaseastheweekgoesonEachdaywehadmorethanthepreviousday,aswordspreadthattheprogrammewasrunningandasFridayapproachedwhenbookswouldbegivenaway!ByFridaywehadaround50present.Somehadcomeforthefirsttime,othersforthesecondtime,andothershadcomeeveryyearofthethreeyearswehavebeencoming
