In 2016, Renault returned to Formula 1™ with its own factory team. The 2017 season will be the second year in a long-term project. Our ambition? To leap forwards in terms of both performance and results, with a fifth place in the constructors championship. This objective is both collective, for the team, and individual, for the drivers. Nico Hülkenberg brings the team the benefits of his experience and talent. Jolyon Palmer made real progress during a sound first year. The drivers should be complementary, enabling the team to come into its own.This year, we have been able to develop our car with both Enstone and Viry, as part of an integrated approach. This will be one of the keys to achieving major progress. Design, production and deployment make up three of the other major challenges that we need to address in a competition where we're facing leading manufacturers, along with state-of-the-art technologies. To achieve our aim, we need to pursue continuous progress in a range of fields: aerodynamics, powertrain systems, integration, vehicle operation, strategy, control systems, driver management, and the quality of track engineering. Last season, we laid the foundations of Renault's future success in Formula 1™.This year, it's up to us to consolidate our results. Expectations are high, but that's also what makes this challenge so exciting.
