• Removing Astra H Dials Don't know if anyone has done on yet but here is a nice pic tutorial on how to remove the dials from the mk5 astra. Ok well, what you need is T20 Torx and a no. 1 screwdriver and patience lol. First of all we need to turn the steering wheel (turn engine on) to get the screws behind them. Remove the wee caps and use your no. 1 screwdriver

Mind the other one

Now disconnect your battery! before proceding. ---------------------------------------------

TIP: Use the steering wheel adjustment so you can get some movement around it Now the top of the steering assembly will now just lift off

Now looking from above there are 2 screws (T20 Torx) that need to be removed.

and

Now undo the screw (T20 Torx) at the very bottom of the steering wheel assembly (may need an extension)

Now just pull out the ignition cap

Now the bottom half should just pull away

Now the bottom is away we can see 2 screws (T20 Torx) under the dials that need to be taken out.

Now pulling the bottom of the dials under and over it will come out to reveal the under side of the dials

so no you can see the cables attached (left hand side), there is a red clip on this. All you do is pull it out and the section holding the cables will fall away.

vwahla, it can just come out now. but now to remove the dust protector all you do is push in the 2 wee clips on the back and pull it away

And for reassembly just reverse everything you did. DONT TURN ON THE IGNITION WITH PANELS REMOVED OR LOOSE! canbus will register that an airbag has blown and you will need a tech 2 to reboot your canbus...
