Announcements and Reminders April 14, 2021 CONFERENCE PLANS CONTINUE The theme of the AATSP’s 103rd Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia is Celebrando a diversidade: O espanhol e o português / Celebrando la diversidad: El español y el portugués. There are many sessions and workshops for educators that focus on inclusive, anti-racist pedagogy to promote diversity of all types (LGBTQ+, chinolatinos, afrolatinos, etc.) and increase cross cultural understanding. Please read all about our keynote speaker, Dr. Krishauna Hines-Gaither and her address titled Diversity, Diversidad, Diversidade: From Words to Actions here. We believe the ideas and values we stand for will best serve our educational communities by continuing with plans for our in- person conference in downtown Atlanta (July 8-11, 2021). WELCOME TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA!We are less than three months away from the 2021 AnnualConference in downtown Atlanta, Georgia which means that it istime for you to register! We have extended the Early BirdRegistration period to Saturday, May 1! The conference has morethan 250 sessions and events. The 2021 conference will be in-person, and attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks andsocially distance. Be sure to read about the Atlanta MarriottMarquis’s COVID-19 safety protocols while you are making yourhotel reservations here. The CDC also has updated its domestictravel guidelines saying that fully vaccinated people can travel at lowrisk to themselves. Click here to read more.

NSE TESTING WINDOW CLOSING TOMORROWDue to the approved extension to the testing window for the NationalSpanish Examinations (NSE), the National Spanish Challenge(NSC) and the National Portuguese Exam (NPE) the exam windowswill close tomorrow, April 15th at the end of the day.

NSE EXAM RESULTSTeachers will be receiving their students' results via email completewith national percentiles for the NSE and NPE for all measurement

categories and category placements on or before May 1. If you arenot participating in your state National Spanish Exam Chapter andwould like more information about recognizing your best studentswith medals, please visit the NSE Store. Teachers who haveadministered the NSC will be receiving score reports and ribbonplacements on or before May 1 as well.
