I have been unsuccessful in reaching you by phone, and I have a question for which we need an answer in order to comply with a request from the Florida Board. We recently sent a letter (copy attached) notifying the Board of a company name change to add a second DBA name. We have since received a follow-up letter from the Board (a copy of this letter is also attached) indicating that our request for a business name cannot be completed for two reasons. I am contacting you to ask your assistance in clarifying one of these reasons. The Board’s letter states we are “not allowed to have more than one DBA name.” We have read the statutes and rules and are unable to locate the language that limits the number of DBA names. I made

two calls last week to the Board and each time neither representative with whom I spoke could locate said language, so I am looking to you for guidance, please. Can you tell me where I will find the specific rule and/or statute that limits the number of DBA names? Or, if this is merely an administrative or clerical issue, please so advise (we encountered a similar issue with another state and their restriction was simply because the additional DBA name would not fit onto the certificate).
