Utility Revenue Grade Meters: A meter that

meets the requirements outlined in the ANSI

standard C-12.1-2008 and has a minimum accuracy of +/- 0.2%.

Our system provides valuable features by utilizing a combination of functions built into the Byram EnergyAxis Management System (EA_MS), gatekeepers, network elements, and smart home devices.

The EnergyAxis Management System that Byram manages is a highly intelligent communication system using both wireless and local area networks to ensure daily reads are provided. The mesh network is created via meters and devices communicating together to optimize a robust network that can accurately and

reliably transmit data over large distances. If a meter drops out of the network, its neighbors are able to find another route to bring the reads back.

Smart meters provide metering and service control capabilities and communicate via a secure

900MHz local area network (LAN). These network elements are the endpoints that will monitor each

individual unit being sub-metered.

Byram has integrated with several industry leading smart

home devices to build the architecture of a complete smart home. Through this integration,

you can perform demand response events, adjust your HVAC system as well as post

pictures from your Instagram and Facebook accounts no matter where you are in the world.

Byram’s gatekeeper provides significant distributed intelligence

capabilities for network management, offering numerous benefits such as

advanced event filtering, network routing, critical data redundancy and

numerous other smart metering capabilities. The gatekeeper acts as

the brains of the network and pulls in all of the utility readings so that

Byram can post them to the cloud.

WHAT IS AMI METERING?AMI: Advanced Metering Infrastructure is an integrated system of smart meters, communication networks, and data management systems that enables two-way communication between utilities and customers

• Collect Data More frequently and accurately: Daily reading and reporting is standard with AMI. All electric meters have on-demand remote reading capabilities, perfect for move in/move outs.

• Eliminate Human Errors: The system retrieves data directly from the meter’s register every time a read is taken. Misreads and inaccuracies due to miscommunication of information are eliminated. Time is synchronized on the network allowing for accurate and revenue grade data collection.

BENEFITS OF SUB-METERING WITH BYRAM LABS

• Compatibility: Meters work with many different pulse reading systems and Byram has worked with numerous billing companies to make sure the data that we provide fits directly into their billing software.

• Event Notification: A report is generated in the system when selected conditions are met; such as power outages, reverse energy flow, tamper detection and leak detection for water.

• On-Request Reads: Get an instantaneous off-cycle billing read when residents move in or out.

• Remote configuration: Time-of-Use definitions and meter firmware can be modified in electric meters without a trip to the meter. The system supports the ability to bring back 15 minute, 30 minute or hourly load profile information, along with peak demand information from residential electric meters.

• Electric, Water, Gas, BTU and Steam Measurement Solutions: The AMI system solution allows Byram to provide Smart Metering services for electric, water, gas, BTU’s and steam meters.

• Security: Byram meters use 128 bit encryption to ensure that they are some of the most secure on the market.

• Self-Healing Mesh Network: When radio frequency conditions change, the network allows meters and modules to re-register via alternate paths after a preset amount of time. This greatly enhances communications throughput, improves reliability, and reduces system maintenance.

• Smart Home Capable: The meters can be equipped with ZigBee boards which can be integrated with in home displays, smart thermostats and many other ZigBee devices.
