IoT strategy – State of play
At this juncture,
• The definition of IoT is fuzzy – hence the wide range in growth estimates.
• Technologies, applications and business models are evolving.
What is emerging is that,
• The IoT market is driven by specific use case scenarios.
• Customers want end-to-end solutions.
• Companies have to provide the complete stack for seamless inter-operability.
• This drives M&A activity, IP and partnerships.
• Greater value resides in the upper layers of the tech stack – applications, analytics and the IoT platform.
