ORACLE® HYPERION FINANCIAL CLOSE MANAGEMENT

New Module Supplemental Data Manager, the new Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management module, helps you collect, organize, update, edit, and manage supplemental data, typically transactions, for financial analytical applications such as consolidation.

User Interface The following tabs are converted to tabbed objects in Close Manager: Task List View, Calendar Views, Gantt Chart, Task Actions dialog. All but the Gantt Chart can have multiple instances open at the same time. The following tabs are converted to tabbed objects in Account Reconciliation Manager: Reconciliation List View, Profile List View, Transaction List View, Reconciliation Actions dialog. Users can have multiple instances of each of the above open at the same time. In addition to the introduction of multiple tabs, the Filter and Actions panel are now to the right-hand side (for consistency with Financial Management), and new Quick Links and Workflow sections are added to the left hand side.

Regionalization Enhancements Regionalization enhancements enables reconciliations and task scheduling to take into account regional differences in close schedules and holiday dates, provides for centralized assignment of Viewers and Commentators, and provides a hierarchical organizational unit attribute useful for reporting. In Close Manager, the organizational unit can be assigned to the template, causing all tasks in the Template to use that assignment unless overwritten at the task level. When creating Schedules from templates with assigned organizational units, users can override the Date Map associated with these organizational units. You may choose to maintain a template containing a master list of tasks, and then use this template to create Schedules specific to each Organizational Unit. To do this, leave the Organizational Unit blank on the template and tasks, and then use the Advanced Configuration button on the Create Schedule from the Template dialog. Additionally, for Account Reconciliation Manager, regionalization enables different start/end/ close dates and frequencies to be assigned to the same period for different organizational units. Multiple organizational units can use the same holiday rule configuration. Organizational units can be assigned to reconciliations and tasks. When assigned, scheduling will take into consideration the organizational unit configuration.

Report Writer With the Report Writer feature, you can report on reconciliation and task information in a variety of output formats: Excel, PDF, HTML. The feature supports generation of single reports, or report “groups” that contain collections of reports.

Reviewer/Approver Level Settings You can have maximum Reviewer/Approver level settings. This is not notable as a feature, but it is a change you need to be aware of as it affects how the product behaves. For both Close Manager and Account Reconciliation Manager, you now have to specify the maximum number of Approvers (Close

Page | 3

Manager) and Reviewers (Account Reconciliation Manager) and levels you wish to authorize. This change is for architectural reasons, and you can change the value later; however, you cannot remove levels in use.

Email Notifications For Close Manager and Account Reconciliation Manager, email notifications are configured for late reconciliations or tasks, status change notification when a reconciliation or task is now ready for you to begin work, and due date reminder notifications when a reconciliation or task is assigned to you, and the deadline for completion is approaching.

Team and Group Assignments Close Manager inherits the same team and group assignment capability as Account Reconciliation Manager received in 11.1.2.2.350; this feature also extends due dates to the Close 3 Manager Approver function; attributes are added to track “currently late” and “ever been late” for both Assignees and Approvers, as in Account Reconciliation Manager. Teams are shared across modules, but the privileges assigned are module specific. Teams for Close Manager can be authorized with any or all of the Administrator, Power User, or User privileges. Users must be assigned these roles to be eligible for inclusion in the Team. There are Workflow Options: when teams or groups are assigned to the Assignee or Approver roles, they can be configured to be required by any one member (Any Assignee or Any Approver), or by all members. If the Any Assignee / Any Approver option is selected, users must claim the role on the Task Actions dialog in order to perform the role. The feature also includes Backup assignments for the Assignee and Approver roles. Each user can change their “availability status” from the Manage User Profile dialog. Administrators and Power users can change the status of other users from the Manage Users dialog. Task Assignees or Approvers can request reassignment of their functions as long as the request is approved by an Administrator or Owner.

Power Task Actions Power task actions enable multi-selection of tasks and performance of the Submit, Approve, and Reject actions (subject to security rights).

Multiple Schedules Close Manager now displays multiple schedules in list views and portlets.

Business Day Labels Close Manager now shows business day labels.

Account Reconciliation Manager Features Close Manager includes the Account Reconciliation Manager 11.1.2.3.500 features: multi-line text with attachment attribute, enhanced attribute security, Approver questions.

New Integrations Close Manager has new integrations for Event Monitor tasks:

• EBS Advanced Journal Entry Monitoring o GL

• EBS Sub-ledger Open/Close Events o AP o AR o Purchasing

Rules (Phase 1) Rules (Phase 1) feature enables you precise control how the product behaves. The Phase 1 release is designed to support Open Items Management processes in place at customers today and requires the following rules:

• Automatically copy reconciliation transactions from the prior reconciliation • Prevent transaction delete • Prevent amount edit • Conditionally set attribute access

Choose Role For Account Reconciliation Manager, the choose role functionality enables any combination of Account Reconciliation Manager roles to be applied to a single user. If you choose the Administrator role, you can perform all the functions assigned to an Administrator. If you choose the Power User role, you can perform all the functions assigned to a Power User, but only for the accounts within your power user security filter. If you choose the Workflow User role, then you can perform preparation, review, viewer, and commentator functions, but only for the reconciliations to which you are assigned those functions.

Profile Active Flag Profile active flag enables organizations to define profiles in advance of the need for these profiles. The profiles are set to “inactive” status and are excluded from the copy to period process, and the “Missing Profiles” validation process that checks completeness of reconciliations in the period. During data load, the flag is set to “active” automatically if a balance exists for the profile.

ORACLE® HYPERION FINANCIAL DATA QUALITY MANAGEMENT, ENTERPRISE EDITION

Target Application Enhancements In this release, Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition now supports:

• Oracle Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management (HPCM) • Tax Provision Application of Oracle Hyperion Financial Management

Target Load Options In Data Load Rules, you can now specify target application options specific to a location. For example, you can select different data protection values for each location.

Data Synchronization In this release, a robust data synchronization feature has been added to FDMEE so that you can easily move data between the EPM applications irrespective of the dimensionality of theapplication without having to create a data file from the EPM source application. You specify the source and target EPM application, and then map the data. Given the powerful mapping features already available, the data can be easily transformed from one application to another application. For example, synchronizing data enables you to move data from Financial Management to Oracle Essbase for reporting.

Write-Back FDMEE has been enhanced to support write-back from all EPM applications (except the Accounts Reconciliation Manger) to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. This feature offers significant advantages, such as writing back budgets created in Planning to Peoplesoft or E-Business Suite ERP GL, or moving adjustment journals from Oracle Hyperion Financial Management to ERP Systems like Oracle E-Business Suite or Peoplesoft. Other target systems still need to use a custom application framework.

POV Locking New POV lock options are available in this release that enable you to lock the POV for all locations or to lock the POV for an individual location. Locking the POV prevents locations from modifying the data. When a location has been locked for a particular period or category, users cannot import, validate, export, or rerun the validation report. Data in a locked POV can only be loaded when the locked POV is “unlocked.”

Import Format Builder A new Import Format Builder feature has been added in this release to Import Formats. When the source system is a file-based data load, use the Import Format Builder feature to map source fields graphically to target dimension members instead of typing the starting position and the field length. This feature is available for both fixed and delimited files.

Concatenating Source Dimensions for ERP Segments In Import Formats you can now concatenate an unlimited number of ERP segments and define mappings on the concatenated code combinations. Previously the concatenation limit was 5 segments.

Page | 9

New Fix Mapping Feature In the Data Load Workbench, you now have the option to view mapping errors and fix them instantly when mapping errors have occurred.

Report Translation You can now view report descriptions and parameters in the language selected for your user interface. Language templates are available at: C:\Oracle\Middleware \EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialDataQuality\templates for you to select and associate with a report definition.

Financial Close Management Integration with FDMEE As part of the overall Financial Close process, Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition enables a data load from ERP systems and files to EPM Applications. Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management, which manages the period end close activities, initiates data load activities within Financial Close Management. As the financial close processes are time-bound and work flow driven, Financial Close Management users trigger the processes based on task alerts and notifications. In this release, integration between FDMEE and Financial Close Management is achieved by using the interactive mode. This type of integration enables Financial Close Management users to reach the Data Load Workbench component of FDMEE by clicking a task link (URL) in Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management.

ORACLE® HYPERION PLANNING

Simplified Interface Administrators can make a simplified interface available to access common tasks. The new simplified interface presents an engaging visual way for administrators to create and manage an application, and for planners to build, analyze, report on, and approve plans. Home page icons make navigating the application easy.

Get Started For helpful information on getting started, explore the resources under the Academy icon on the Home page. From the icon, you can click or tap the Oracle Help Center to access videos that demonstrate how to optimize your work. From the Academy icon, you can also:

• Learn how to accomplish common tasks on the “Getting Started for Administrators” and “Getting Started for Planners” pages.

• Read “Best Practices for Designing Your Application.” • Learn about the phases and steps to creating your Oracle Hyperion Planning application. Linked

online tutorials demonstrate the steps. • Click or tap a link to the Oracle Help Center to view videos, tutorials, and documentation.

Also, two new guides, available on the Books tab of the Oracle Help Center, show you how to accomplish your business objectives using Planning:

• Oracle Hyperion Planning Simplified Interface Administrator's Guide • Oracle Hyperion Planning Simplified Interface User's Guide

Enhanced Performance in Simple Forms • Because Planning forms now use the latest client-side scripting technologies in the new

simplified user interface you’ll enjoy faster response times when you scroll, enter data, and when you press Tab and Shift+Tab. You’ll also find new shortcut keys and new actions such as Undo and Wrap Text.

• Because most work is now done on the client side, server requests are greatly reduced. We estimate that servers can now handle 33 percent more load than before in the same response time.

• Planning is, by default, configured to preload data when you open forms. To optimize performance, turn on compression by updating your web server or Load Balancer configuration. The Oracle HTTP Server instance that you install from the EPM System installer is configured to support compression. If you are using a different web server, see your web server or Load Balancer documentation for instructions to turn on compression.

Control the Look and Feel of the Interface Use the Settings icon on the Home page to customize your UI. For example, you can add your company logo to the Home page. Or create a watermark background by including a URL to an image file.

Manage the Application with the Console From the Console icon on the Home page:

Page | 15

• Get a visual overview of the application. • See the total number of tasks, plans, rules, and approval hierarchies in the application. • Refresh the application. • Set a schedule for backing up the application, including setting the time zone.

Schedule Recurring Jobs A new Job Scheduler enables administrators to automate many functions. Schedule and manage jobs such as importing and exporting data or metadata, launching a business rule, and refreshing the database. You can start the job immediately or schedule it to run at intervals.

Manage Dimensions • Create or rename dimensions. • View the details of a dimension. • Set the order of dimensions to determine how calculations are performed. • Set the evaluation order to specify which data type prevails when an intersection has conflicting

data types.

Easy Import and Export • After creating an import file for each artifact, you can import dimensions, Smart Lists, and

exchange rates. You can import from a file or Planning Inbox. • After importing metadata, you can populate your application with data by importing it from a

file. The file can be on your computer, on an FTP site, or the Planning Outbox. • You can export metadata locally to your computer, to an FTP site, or to a Planning Outbox. • The import and export file can be in tab- or comma-delimited format.

Enhanced Planning Capabilities Planners can now:

• Easily create dashboards in Planning to provide a quick, visual view of key data. Just drag forms, charts, and external links to a dashboard.

• Analyze data in robust ad hoc grids by zooming in and out on members, and pivoting dimensions. Change which members to work with.

• Format and save ad hoc grids as reports for viewing in Planning or in Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting.

• Format forms to emphasize certain data. For example, set the font size and color. Bold, italicize, or underline data. Set the background color. You can save or clear the formatting.

• Visualize tasks by status or by type. • View planning unit status in a graphic.

Create Reports for Sharing Data View and distribute static or dynamic reports that summarize data, in either PDF or HTML format.

Undo Feature When working with a simple form in the simplified interface, if an administrator has set up the form to support Undo, you can undo your actions by pressing Ctrl+Z (or clicking or tapping Undo on the Data tab). Press Ctrl+Z repeatedly to successively undo actions that you've taken since you last opened or refreshed the form. When you use Undo, dependent cells, such as those that are dynamically calculated, are reevaluated.

Page | 16

Instant Save Built-in intelligence now quickly saves new or changed data in simple forms when planners click or tap Save. Instant save works unless the structure of the form has changed (for example, if a row was suppressed because it had no data). The Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator's Guide describes the form options that prevent instant save.

Automatic Save Administrators can set up a simple form so that planners' data is automatically saved when they move out of a cell, and values are aggregated immediately. The affected cells are displayed in green. To enable automatic save, the administrator selects the new Grid Properties option Enable Autosave. With that option selected, administrators can also select Run Form Rules on Autosave, which updates dynamically calculated cells that depend on the changed cell values.

New Shortcut Keys New shortcut keys are available when you access simple forms in the simplified interface from the desktop.

• Navigation shortcuts—Planners can now navigate the form using new keyboard shortcuts. For example, to move to the first cell in the form, press Ctrl+Home.

• Data entry shortcuts—New data entry shortcuts provide built-in calculators. For example, to enter the value in thousands, enter 5K for 5,000.

• Formatting shortcuts—Key combinations enable planners to quickly format values. For example, to bold a value, press Ctrl+Alt+B.

Support for Dynamic Dimension Members Users can now add children whenever they want and name them whatever they want. If a parent member is enabled for adding dynamic children, users can create a new member by entering its name in the runtime prompt.

Classic User Interface Planning no longer supports the Classic user interface (that is, up to and including Planning Release 11.1.2.1).

ORACLE® HYPERION PROFITABILITY AND COST MANAGEMENT

New Management Ledger Application Type A new application type, Management Ledger, offers management reporting and modeling with data structured similarly to Oracle General Ledger and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management implementations. You define allocations and other calculations required for management reporting outputs using a more free-form approach than is supported in Standard Profitability models. In Management Ledger models, there is no concept of stages or layers. All structure is controlled through the organization of rule sets and rules under points of view (POVs). As in other application types, POVs represent a specific instance of the model, and can be used to view or calculate different versions of a model; for example, to view values for different months or quarters, to compare budget versus actual figures, or to play scenarios to measure the impact of various changes on the bottom line. For each POV, calculation rules are organized into groups that run against the same or similar region of the database and at the same or similar time. These groups are called rule sets. They determine the order in which calculation rules run. Calculation rules can inherit default member selections from the POV or rule set level so users can define a region of the database once and use it many times without having to specify it each time. These defaults are called “contexts”. Task areas in the user interface support validation, rule balancing, allocation tracing, reporting, and queries.

Support for the Management Ledger Application Type The Profitability Applications tool, Job Library, LCM tool, and other features used for all application types now support Management Ledger applications.

System Reports for All Application Types System reports are now available for all application types, as follows: Dimension Statistics and Execution Statistics reports are available for Management Ledger, Standard Profitability, and Detailed Profitability models; the Genealogy Statistics report is available for Standard Profitability models; and the Program Documentation report is available for Management Ledger models. To generate system reports, select System Reports in the Reporting task area.

Sample Model Set-up Scripts You can now use SQL scripts to set up model data for Detailed Profitability sample model BksDP30 in Microsoft SQL Server. A new file called BksDP30_SQL_Scripts_SqlServer.zip has been added to the samples\BksDP30 directory. Instructions for using these scripts with SQL Server are included in the HPCM Sample Models Readme.docx file.

Process Automation Support with REST APIs Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs are now available for all application types for automating processes in the production environment, such as deploying Oracle Essbase cubes or transferring data, with scripts instead of action by on-site personnel. The REST APIs can also be used for basic task processing such as running calculation rules. For details, see the REST automation documentation posted with other Oracle Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management documentation on http://www.oracle.com.

ORACLE® DATA RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

Data Relationship Governance Enhancements

Conditional Workflow Stages A workflow model can be configured to conditionally alter the workflow path for individual requests. You can include or exclude particular workflow stages depending on whether request items have certain property values or if they fail certain validations. You can also separate request items that require different approvers and split enrichment tasks into different requests to follow separate workflow paths.

Separation of Duties You can configure workflow stages to require a separate approving user who has not submitted or approved for any other stage in the request.

Request Items from File Request items can be loaded into a workflow request from an external flat file created by a user or source system. You can load request items during a Submit or Enrich stage. Source files may be loaded using the Web Client or Batch Client.

Request Attachments Attachments can be added to a workflow request to justify changes or explain an action that was taken. Attachments can be viewed and downloaded by request participants. File attachments are uploaded to a request using the Web Client.

Request Details for Transactions The final approver for a committed request is recorded in the transaction history. Transaction detail provides audit information for each transaction including the user responsible for making the change in the request and when they made the change.

Improved Handling of Request Exceptions • Submitters may withdraw their own in-flight requests. • Commit users may access escalated requests along with Data Managers. • Escalation users can advance the request for any stage. • Data Manager role may unclaim any in-flight request and delete any request that has not been

committed.

Workflow Request Page Improvements • Tabbed layout for easy access to request content • Show/hide control for task label and instructions • Task property instructions • Custom property labels by task • Filter hierarchies used for request items by task • Splitter to view more items or details

Oracle Planning and Budgeting Application Template A new application template is available to auto-configure a Oracle Data Relationship Management application to import, manage, and export dimensions for the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service. After the template is loaded, nodes can be created, organized into hierarchies, and assigned membership to Oracle Hyperion Planning dimensions in Data Relationship Management. The application template includes properties, categories, validations, node types, imports and exports. The application template can also be used to manage dimensions for classic Planning applications

Import Enhancements

Substitution Parameters Substitution parameters can be used to pass in custom run-time parameters to imports. The values of these parameters can be used with import options for creating orphan hierarchies.

Single Section Import You can load an import file that consists of a single import section and which does not contain a section header.

Skipping Header Records in File Header records at the beginning of an import file can be skipped during the import process. The number of records to skip is configured in the import profile.

Orphan Hierarchies Hierarchies can be automatically created from nodes that are imported as orphans into a version. A separate hierarchy is created for each top orphan node that has children but no parent in the version. Orphan nodes that have no children can be imported into a single stranded orphan hierarchy.

Ignoring Nodes In the import profile, you can specify a list of nodes included in the source file that will be ignored during the import process.

Set Node Types and Assign Validations You can configure an import profile to automatically assign a node type property and validations to all hierarchies being imported using the profile. This eliminates the need to handle these configurations for each hierarchy manually after import.

Formatted Memo Properties You can import multi-line, formatted memo property values by enclosing the values in quotes.

Optional Section Header Suffix You can leave the import file section header suffix blank.

Page | 23

Reverse Lookup Lookup type properties can be selected for import section columns to perform a reverse lookup on column values being imported. The resulting value is stored in the defined property that uses the lookup property.

Export Enhancements

Substitution Parameters You can use substitution parameters to pass in custom run-time parameters to exports. The values of these parameters can be used for selecting hierarchy groups, in query filters and in dynamic export columns.

Hierarchy Groups Hierarchy groups can be used to auto-select hierarchies for exports instead of having to manually select the hierarchies for each export. Each export profile is configured with a hierarchy group property and hierarchy group. When a hierarchy is assigned to a hierarchy group, the hierarchy becomes immediately included in all exports using the group.

Dynamic Columns You can use a dynamic export column to add a specific value to a column that is not present in the source version used by the export. You can specify a combination of literal values and substitution parameters in the dynamic column.

Improved Architecture Data Relationship Management offers a streamlined application server architecture optimized for single machine, multi-processor deployments on 64-bit hardware. Each application utilizes a single engine and server, instead of the multiple engine and server configuration used in previous releases. These improvements result in higher concurrency of read operations, eliminate event traffic between engines, and reduce connections to and data transferred from the repository.

Web Client Accessibility This release of Data Relationship Management is accessible. The Data Relationship Management Web Client supports accessibility requirements for people with a wide range of disabilities. This includes full keyboard navigation and compatibility with screen readers such as JAWS. Oracle Data Relationship Management supports accessibility at all times.

ORACLE® ESSBASE

Thread Pool for Parallel Operations Historically, Essbase dynamically created threads for parallel operations such as parallel calculation, parallel data load, and parallel restructure. However, beginning this release, the following parallel operations do not dynamically create threads, but instead use a set number of threads from a pre-created pool of threads:

• Parallel calculation, with CALCPARALLEL or FIXPARALLEL • Parallel data load, for aggregate storage and block storage databases • Parallel export, for block storage databases • Parallel restructuring

You can customize the size of the thread pool. For more information, see the WORKERTHREADS configuration setting topic in the Oracle Essbase Technical Reference.

XML Outline Editing XML outline editing enables you to use an XML file to make basic changes to the database outline. This method is a streamlined way to make outline edits without needing to use a rules file nor invoke the Outline API. To perform XML outline editing, you reference a provided .xsd file, create an .xml file, and call the C Main API function EssBuildDimXML (or the Java API method buildDimensionXml). For more information, see EssBuildDimXML in the Oracle Essbase API Reference. To use the XML outline editing feature in Essbase 11.1.2.4, aggregate storage outlines that were created in an earlier release must first be migrated to 11.1.2.4.

Enhancements to Hybrid Aggregation Hybrid aggregation mode was introduced in Release 11.1.2.3.500 as a way to bring improved calculation efficiency to block storage databases. In this release, Time-balance tagged members and Dynamic Time Series members can also be calculated in hybrid aggregation mode. Additionally, many more calculation functions are included in the list for member formulas that can be calculated in hybrid aggregation mode. For the full list, see the topic “Functions Supported in Hybrid Aggregation Mode” in the Oracle Essbase Technical Reference. For more information about hybrid aggregation mode, see the ASODYNAMICAGGINBSO configuration setting topic in the Oracle Essbase Technical Reference.

Optimizations for Oracle Exalytics In-Memory machine Enhancements have been introduced for Essbase Server running on Oracle Exalytics In-Memory machine. An accompanying increase in virtual memory usage is normal and expected. Virtual memory usage is increased by the size of page files. On SPARC T5/Solaris Exalytics In-Memory machine, for best performance, configure swap space on the system to be greater than the sum of the expected sizes of dynamic calculator caches, for all databases on the system.

Supporting POV and Pivot Enhancements for Smart View 11.1.2.5.400 Essbase and Oracle Hyperion Provider Services are enhanced to support the Oracle Smart View for Office Point of View (POV) toolbar and pivoting behavior as follows:

• Multiple members can be pivoted from the grid to the POV toolbar.

Page | 26

• Multiple members can be pivoted from the POV toolbar to the grid. • A single dimension can remain on the POV toolbar.

In prior releases, only one member in a dimension could be pivoted from the grid to the POV, and from the POV to the grid. Also in prior releases, Essbase and Oracle Hyperion Provider Services only supported having at least two dimensions on the Oracle Smart View for Office POV toolbar.

Calculation Enhancements

New Calculation Functions @RELXRANGE—Generates a cross dimensional list based on the relative position of the cell that is currently being calculated and the offsets.

Calculation Function Changes Support for the XrangeList parameter is added to a number of functions. XrangeList is a range of members from one or more dimensions, and can help you incorporate time continuum navigation. The functions that support XrangeList are:

• @COMPOUND • @COMPOUNDGROWTH • @CORRELATION • @COUNT • @DECLINE • @DISCOUNT • @GROWTH • @INTEREST • @IRR • @IRREX • @MEDIAN • @MODE • @NEXT • @NEXTS • @NPV • @PRIOR • @PRIORS • @PTD • @RANK • @RELXRANGE (new function) • @SHIFT • @SHIFTMINUS • @SHIFTPLUS • @SLN • @SYD • @VARIANCE • @VARIANCEP

Page | 27

Configuration Setting (essbase.cfg) Changes

New Configuration Settings • WORKERTHREADS—See Thread Pool for Parallel Operations. • CRASHDUMPLOCATION—Sets the location where Essbase saves a core dump file when an

abnormal termination occurs. • CONNECTIONTIMEOUT—Specifies the maximum time that Essbase should wait for a SQL

connection before timing out. • QUERYTIMEOUT—Specifies the maximum time that Oracle Essbase should wait for a SQL query

to execute before timing out.

MaxL Grammar Changes The MaxL export data statement includes grammar you can use to make exported data anonymous, wherein real data is replaced with generated values. This removes the risk of sensitive data disclosure, and can be used in case a model needs to be provided to technical support for reproduction of certain issues.

Essbase API Changes

New C Main API Function EssBuildDimXML—See XML Outline Editing.

New C Outline API Function EssOtlVerifyOutlineEx3—A new API function for verifying outlines. This function differs from EssOtlVerifyOutlineEx in that it provides both member warnings and formula errors.

Changed API Functions and Structures ESS_PERF_CUSTCALC_T and ESS_PERF_ALLOC_T have an additional field, dataloadOption. Generated calculation or allocation values can be added to existing values, instead of overwriting them.

ORACLE® ESSBASE STUDIO

Clearing Deployment History from Essbase Studio Console Each time you deploy an Oracle Essbase model, deployment history data is stored in the Essbase Studio catalog. When you migrate the catalog to a new release in a new environment, or export and import the catalog, the deployment history, which is contained in the catalog, is also migrated. If there are many rejected records, the history can grow too large, causing the migration to fail. In previous releases, there was no option to clear deployment history from Essbase Studio Console. In Release 11.1.2.4, you can clear deployment history from Essbase Studio Console for a single Essbase model. In Metadata Navigator, you right-click the Essbase model and select Deployment History and then Clear Deployment History. Clearing deployment history requires Oracle Essbase Studio administrator privileges.

Clearing Deployment History for all Cubes and all Models in the Catalog In previous releases, there was only the option to clear deployment history for a single Essbase model using the cleanModelHistorycommand line utility. In 11.1.2.4, there are two new command line utilities you can use to clear deployment history for all cubes and all models in the catalog:

• The globalCleanModelHistoryAndLeaveLastSucc utility clears deployment history for all cubes and all models in the catalog and leaves the latest successful record for each deployed Essbase model.

• The globalCleanModelHistory utility clears all deployment history for all cubes and all models in the catalog, including successful records.

Connecting to Alternate Data Sources for Drill-through Reports With drill-through reports, you create spreadsheet reports that display data retrieved directly from external relational data sources. In Release 11.1.2.4, when creating a drill-through report, you can connect to an alternate data source. An alternate data source is a data source other than the one that was used to create the Oracle Essbase cube. If you have a data source with a similar data schema, you can define the drill-through report to access it instead.

Requiring a User Name and Password to Perform Drill-through You can require users to enter a user name and password to access the database when performing drill-through. When you select Require user name and password on the Report Contents tab of the drill-through report editor, Oracle Smart View for Office users must enter a user name and password to access the database during drill-through.

ORACLE® SMART VIEW FOR OFFICE

Enhanced Submit Data Functionality Oracle Smart View for Office offers two new options for submitting data:

• Submit Data Without Refresh—Submit modified cells, also called dirty cells, from Oracle Essbase, Oracle Hyperion Planning Ad Hoc, and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management Ad Hoc without first refreshing. This functionality was previously only available for Essbase.

• Submit Data Range—Select and then submit contiguous and non-contiguous single cells and cell ranges from Essbase, Planning Ad Hoc, and Financial Management Ad Hoc. Only cell data from the selected cells is submitted. If there are dirty cells on the sheet outside the range of selected cells, their changed value is not submitted.

Note that you can use the Submit Data Without Refresh and Submit Data Range options to submit cell data from cells that were modified by a user who does not have Smart View installed. In the Oracle Smart View for Office User's Guide, see “Using the Submit Data Options” for more information.

POV and Pivot Enhancements When connected to Essbase and Oracle Hyperion Provider Services 11.1.2.4 or later, the POV toolbar and pivoting behavior is enhanced as follows:

• Multiple members can now be pivoted from the grid to the POV toolbar. • Multiple members can now be pivoted from the POV toolbar to the grid. • A single dimension can now remain on the POV toolbar.

In prior releases, only one member in a dimension could be pivoted from the grid to the POV, and from the POV to the grid. Also in prior releases, Essbase only supported having at least two dimension on the POV toolbar.

Improved Extension Update and Distribution In release 11.1.2.5.400 and later, you can customize the extension update process so that Smart View end users can control when they install, update and remove extensions. To enable this functionality, the Smart View administrator configures attributes in theUpdateList.xml manifest file to control the options available to the users. If the administrator does not configure these attributes inUpdateList.xml, extensions will continue to be updated using the existing Auto-Update process. In releases earlier than Smart View 11.1.2.5.400, extensions were updated using the Auto- Update process. To update extensions with Auto-Update, Smart View end users go to the Extensions tab of the Options dialog box and click the Check for updates link or select the Check for updates when Microsoft Office starts check box to initiate extension updates. For all extensions, if any updates were available, they were retrieved and installations were automatically initiated. There are two types of extensions that can be installed on a Smart View client machine:

• Provider extensions. Extensions that are dependent on, or integrated with, Oracle components are provider extensions. Examples are the Oracle Hyperion Disclosure Management and Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting extensions. Provider extensions can be configured as required extensions.

• Per-user extensions. Extensions that are installed in the user’s application data folder. These extensions may or may not be dependent on Oracle components. Additionally, per-user extensions can also be configured as required extensions.

Page | 30

The Smart View administrator configures the UpdateList.xml file to specify the list of provider and per-user extensions available to end users along with options for installing, updating, and removing them. Additionally, per-user extensions can also be configured to display an indicator for required extensions and does not force the installation. The Smart View end user then accesses the Options dialog box and installs, updates, or uninstalls the extensions that are available to him or her in the Extensions tab. To configure provider and per-user extension installation, uninstallation, and updating, complete the procedure “Configuring Manual Extension Updates” in the Oracle Smart View for Office User's Guide. If you do not want to make changes to the extension update process, you may refer to “Configuring Auto-Update Extensions” in theOracle Smart View for Office User's Guide for information on the structure of the XML and examples, but you do not need to take any further action. For instructions on installing, updating, and removing extensions in Smart View, end users can refer to the procedure topics in “Extensions” in the “Smart View Options” chapter of the Oracle Smart View for Office User's Guide.

New Diagnostics Tools When an issue arises while using Smart View that you cannot resolve on your own, you can use the new Smart View Diagnostic tools in the Diagnostics group in the Smart View ribbon to create and collect log files and screenshots to send to Oracle Support. When you are finished collecting diagnostic data, you use the diagnostic tools to zip up the files. Then you transmit the ZIP file to Oracle Support for analysis. The log files and screenshots are used by Oracle Support to troubleshoot and resolve your issue. You can customize certain features of Smart View Diagnostic tools; for example:

• Hide data values in an Office document. • Hide member names in an Office document. • Direct the diagnostics output files to a folder other than the default. • Allow automatic screenshots for each warning or error message that is displayed.

See the “Smart View Diagnostics” chapter of the Oracle Smart View for Office User's Guide for more information on the Diagnostics tools.

New Member Selection Dialog Box for Business Rules The Member Selection dialog box for Oracle Hyperion Business Rules and for modifying user variables on forms is changed in this release, and is now the same as the standard Smart View Member Selection dialog box accessed from the data provider ribbons. With this new dialog box, performance is improved when selecting members for Business Rules or modifying user variables, providing a consistent user experience across the product. In prior releases, the Member Selection dialog box for Oracle Hyperion Business Rules had a different look-and-feel from the standardMember Selection dialog box, even though the fields and controls were generally the same. This feature requires Planning 11.1.2.4 or later.

User Name and Password Support for Drill-Through Reports An Essbase administrator can require that users specify a user name and a password when logging on to the data source to access drill-through reports. When launching a drill-through report in Smart View, the user name and password fields are now displayed if they are required to access the drill-through report. If a user name and password are not required, then these fields are not displayed.

Page | 31

Oracle BI EE Filter Enhancement When defining the filter expression for views in View Designer, sometimes the data to choose from in the Value Selector is exceedingly long. To accommodate loading large amounts of data in the Value Selector, Smart View presents values in groups. In the Value Selector, you can scroll and make selections from the first group shown, then click More to view and make selections from the next group. You can continue clicking More until you have viewed and made selections from the entire data list.

Oracle BI EE Prompt Enhancement Prompts enable users to specify criteria that determines the content of the view that they are inserting. When editing prompts, depending on how the prompt was set up, you may be selecting data directly from a drop-down list on the Prompt Selector. You may also be picking values from the Value Selector dialog box. Sometimes the data to choose from in the Value Selector is exceedingly long. To accommodate loading large amounts of data in the Value Selector, Oracle Smart View for Office presents values in groups. In the Value Selector, you can scroll and make selections from the first group shown, then click More to view and make selections from the next group. You can continue clicking More until you have viewed and made selections from the entire data list.

Measure Label Flexibility in Oracle BI EE View Designer The Measure Label element represents the labels for all the Measures columns in the Measures edge of the View Designer. If you are working with a pivot table view that has the pivot table display style, you can now reorder the Measure Label element within the Column edge, and you can now move the Measure Label to any edge except the Measure edge. Oracle recommends experimenting with moving the Measure Label element to another edge, or reordering it within the Column edge, to create a more readable pivot table layout.

Sheet Information Improvements The Sheet Information dialog box in Excel now presents consistent information across Oracle Essbase, Oracle Hyperion Planning, and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management providers, including connection status and other information. See “Sheet Information” in theOracle Smart View for Office User's Guide for more details.
