constant current / constant voltage, lädt bis zum erreichen der lade-schlussspannung mit einem konstanten ladestrom. anschließend wird der akku mit konstanter Spannung weitergeladen.

der ladestrom sinkt mit zunehmender ladung langsam ab und der ladevorgang wird nach dem erreichen eines voreingestellten lade-endstroms automatisch beendet. der akku wird somit entsprechend seines ladezustands aufgeladen, aber nicht überladen, es findet

keine dauerladung statt.

CCCv TECHNOLOGY

anSmann standard chargers mainly use cccv technology for charging li-ion batteries (constant current / constant voltage). until the cells reach their end charging voltage, they are charged with a constant current, after which they are charged with a constant voltage.

during the constant voltage phase, the current decreases to a pre-determined level, at which the charging process is stopped. this ensures that the pack is charged to its optimum capacity without the possibility of overcharging. there is no trickle charge stage as this reduced the batteries lifetime.

neben individuell entwickelten Systemlösungen bietet anS-mann ein umfangreiches Sortiment an Standard - ladegeräten für alle ar ten der l i - ionen -technologie an. dank eines intelligenten Baukastensystems sind die ladegeräte ständig lieferbar, ohne dass zusätzlicher entwicklungsaufwand anfällt. zahlreiche Stecker- und tischladegeräte mit unterschiedlichen nennspannungen und lade -strömen für akkupacks mit bis zu 13 zellen versorgen praktisch jede anwendung mit dem nötigen Strom. die ladeüberwachung wird dabei speziell an die entsprechende akku-chemie angepasst. durch den einsatz von sof twarebasier ten ladealgory thmen sind auch kundenspezifische anpassungen mit geringem aufwand rea -lisierbar. länderspezifische Primärstecker, wechselbare Primärste -cker und individuelle Sekundärsteckverbinder können bei diesen lösungen natürlich berücksichtigt werden.

darüber hinaus verfügt anSmann auch über microcontrollergesteuer-te ladegeräte, die speziell auf die Spannungslage von lithium-eisen-Phosphat-zellen (lifePo4) mit nominal 3,3v abgestimmt sind. diese zellen haben im vergleich zu anderen lithium-akkus deutliche vortei-le im Bereich Schnellladung, maximalem entladestrom und zulässiger Betriebstemperatur. Sie erreichen bei gleichen Betriebsbedingungen höhere zyklenzahlen als lithium-ionen- oder lithium-Polymer-akkus.

die lifePo4-Standardgeräte mit ladeströmen von 1a bis 2,5a sind kurzfristig lieferbar. auf anfrage können auch ladegeräte mit höhe-ren ladeströmen geliefert werden.

in addition to custom-developed solutions, anSmann offers an ex tensive range of standard chargers for all t ypes of l i - ion technology. thanks to an intelligent modular system the chargers are readily available without any additional development ef fort. numerous plug - in and desktop chargers with dif ferent voltages and charging currents for battery packs with up to 13 cells provide virtually any application with the necessary power. the charge mo-nitoring is tailored to the appropriate battery chemistry. through the use of sof tware -based algorithm, customising to a particular specification can be achieved at relatively low cost. country spe -cific primary plugs, interchangeable primary plugs and individual secondary connectors can all be provided, dependent on the specific requirement.

moreover, anSmann has developed microprocessor controlled char-gers that are matched to the voltage of l ithium iron Phosphate cells (lifePo4) with a nominal 3.3 v per cell. these cells have, compared to other lithium battery technologies, significant advan-tages. these include rapid charge, rapid discharge and very high operating temperatures. lithium iron Phosphate cells can achieve higher operating condit ions and a higher number of cycles than standard lithium- ion or lithium-Polymer bat teries. lifePo4 stan -dard units with charging currents from 1a to 2.5a are available on a short lead-time. upon request, chargers with higher charging currents can be supplied.

das Standard-ladegeräteprogramm von anSmann umfasst ne-ben den li-ion-geräten auch ladegeräte für Blei- und nimh-akkus. die leistungsdichte von nimh-zellen wurde in den letzten Jahren ständig erhöht. dies und die weite verbreitung dieser technologie macht sie zu einer leistungsfähigen und preiswerten alternative im Bereich der mobilen energieversorgung.

DAS –deltaU-vERFAHRENdas gebräuchlichste „intelligente“ ladeverfahren für nimh –zellen ist das –deltau-verfahren. unabhängig vom ladezustand werden die akkus vollgeladen, eine überladung wird verhindert. mit diesem verfahren sind sehr kurze ladezeiten (hohe ladeströme) realisierbar. ein microcontroller überwacht hierbei den Spannungsverlauf des akkus während der ladung.

DAS IU-vERFAHRENanSmann-ladegeräte für Bleiakkus laden mit der iu- oder iuou-kennlinie. das iu-ladeverfahren verläuft analog zum zuvor beschriebenen cccv-verfahren. das heißt der Strom sinkt in der letzten Phase der ladung bis zum erreichen der ladeschlussspannung langsam ab. anders als beim cccv-verfahren wird der ladevorgang jedoch nicht vollständig beendet, sondern geht in erhaltungsladung über. das ladegerät kann bei Bereitschafts - oder Parallelbetrieb am akku angeschlossen bleiben.

DAS IUoU-vERFAHRENBeim iuou-verfahren erfolgt die aufladung zunächst wie beim iu-verfahren. ist die ladeschlussspannung erreicht und hat sich der ladestrom bis auf einen voreingestellten wert reduziert, wird das ladegerät auf eine konstante Spannung von 2,3 v pro zelle zurückgeschaltet, um ein überladen und ausgasen des akkus zu verhindern (floating mode). mit diesem ladeverfahren sind kürzere ladezeiten realisierbar als mit dem „einfacheren“ iu-verfahren. es wird vor allem bei zyklischen anwendungen eingesetzt.

THE –deltav CUT-OFF METHODthe most commonly used ‘smart’ charging method for nimh cells is the -deltav technique. the cells will be optimally charged regardless of the state of charge at the beginning of the charging process and overcharging is prevented. using this technique a very short charge time is possible. a microcontroller monitors the voltage curve of the battery during the charging process.

THE Iv TECHNOLOGYanSmann chargers for lead acid batteries are available with the iv or ivov charge characteristics. the iv charging process is similar to the previously described cccv technology in that the current decreases slowly during the last charging phase up to the end charge voltage. unlike chargers with cccv characteristics, chargers with iv technology do not cut off completely but continue to float charge. the charger can be left connected to the battery during standby or parallel mode.

THE Iv0v TECHNOLOGYinitially the ivov charging process is similar to the iv technology. after the voltage has reached a pre -defined value and after the current has decreased to a defined lower value the charging voltage is reduced to 2.3 v per cell to avoid overcharging and damage by gassing (floating mode). in comparison to the iv technology, charging with the ivov characteristic achieves a considerably shorter charging time. it is primarily used for cyclical applications.

induktionsladung ist die alternative, wenn eine kontaktlose Stromübertragung benötigt wird. Bei diesem ladekonzept wird die energie mittels induktiver kopplung über ein magnetisches wechselfeld übertragen. dadurch kann diese technik die ladung eines endgerätes ohne verkabelung oder offene ladekontakte realisieren.

durch die induktions-technologie wird der ladestrom vom Sender auf den empfänger übertragen. die nachgeschaltete ladeschaltung kann individuell nach kundenspezifikation gestaltet werden. diese kann von der einfachen dauerladung für nimh- oder Pb-akkus bis zu controllergesteuerten ladung für li-ion-akkupacks realisiert werden. auch die integration der kompletten induktions-ladeschaltung in einen akkupack ist realisierbar.

der ladevorgang erfolgt durch das auflegen und die automatische erkennung des jeweiligen endgerätes. vorteil dieser drahtlosen Stromübertragung ist unter anderem, dass keine kontaktprobleme durch verschmutzung oder oxidation auftreten können, da bei der induktionsladung keine direkte elektrische kontaktierung erforderlich ist. dies ist für endgeräte interessant, die in rauher umgebung eingesetzt werden sollen. ebenso können auf diese weise applikationen in spritzwasser- oder ex-geschützten gehäusen einfach und bequem geladen werden.

induction charging is an alternative when a non-contact power transmission is required. with this charging approach, an electromagnetic field is used to transfer energy between two objects. therefore, this technique can charge a device without charging contacts.

the inductive charge current is transferred from the transmit ter (base station) to the receiver (mobile device). the subsequent charging circuit can be customised to customer specif ications and can be used for simple trickle charging nimh, lead acid bat teries or controlled charging for l i - ion bat tery packs. the integration of the complete induction charging circuit in a bat tery pack can be realised.

advantages of induction charging are that it carries a far lower risk of electric shock and there are no contact problems due to contamination or oxidation. this is interesting for applications that are used in harsh environments and applications in splash or explosion-proof housings.

B. Schwermetalle in geräten und Bauteilen erkannt. ebenso wichtig ist die Prüfung der elektromag-netischen verträglichkeit (emv-Prüfung). der ate-Prüfplatz ist in der lage, akkupacks und die dazugehörige Schutzbeschaltung aufwän-dig und vollautomatisch zu prüfen.

anSmann ver fügt über ein eigenes testzentrum für die durchführung von tests von lithiumbatterien gemäß un-transport-vorschrif t. hier werden nicht nur akkupacks aus eigener Produktion getestet – diese dienstleistung steht auch kunden zur verfügung.

in sechs test ver fahren werden verschiedene gefahrensituationen simuliert, die einem akku oder einer Batterie während dem trans -port widerfahren können. mit hilfe von hochmodernem equipment werden die zellen bis an ihre leistungsgrenzen gebracht: dabei ste -hen neben einer thermischen Prüfung auch kurzschluss - und über-ladungstests sowie eine höhensimulation (flugzeugtransport) auf dem testprogramm. ein Schwingungsgenerator, auch „Shaker“ ge -nannt, erzeugt extreme Schwingungen und Schockbelastungen wie sie bei jedem transport auftreten können. alle ergebnisse werden elektronisch in einem testreport festgehalten. nach erfolgreichem durchlaufen aller Prüfungen, wird ein zert if ikat über die Prüfung nach un handbuch 38.3 ausgestellt.

as a world - class manufacturer, anSmann ensures that the latest technology in both development and production is always at hand. this includes electronic, mechanical and environmental capa-bilities. the modern, computer controlled, measuring and test equip -ment in conjunction with well -trained employees, ensure the opti -mum design and a safe operation. at their rohS test station x-rays are used to identify hazardous materials, such as heavy metals in devices and components. the testing of electromagnetic compatibili -ty with the use of an emc test is equally important. finally, the ate test station is able to test complicated battery packs and the corre -sponding complex safety-boards fully automatically in a fast time.

anSmann has a test centre for testing lithium batteries in accordance with un transport regulations. the services of the test centre are used during product development and are also available to external customers.

Six dif ferent test procedures simulate dif ferent and dangerous situ-ations that may occur during transportation. using state -of-the -art equipment the cells are pushed to their very limit:

the testing program includes a thermal test, a short circuit and over-charge test as well as an altitude simulation (air freight). a vibration generator, also called a “shaker”, produces dif ferent vibrations and shock loads to simulate condit ions that may occur during regular transport. all results are recorded electronically in a test report. af-ter successful completion of all tests according to un manual 38.3 a certificate is issued.
