Reflexive (Present tense) Grammar Essential Slide 2 Reflexive Verbs/Infinitives There are two categories for all infinitives. There are reflexive and non-reflexive. Reflexive verbs have the subject doing action to self. Non-reflexive have the subject doing action to someone/ something else. Reflexives, in their infinitive form, have se at the end. The are very easy to spot in a list. Slide 3 Reflexive Verbs You may have noticed that some of the infinitives have been used before, but now have a se attached to them. lavarse = to wash self lavar = to wash (something else) I wash my hair. Subject doing action to self. I wash my clothing. Subject doing action to something or someone else. Slide 4 Me lavo el pelo. Me lavo el pelo. La mam lava el pelo de su beb. Slide 5 Reflexive Conjugations You are not learning a new conjugation. The verbs are the same conjugation that they always have been.
