“The main house began life as two small cottages, but over the years they had been joined together and added to by various owners. When I purchased the property it’s fair to say that it was in a bit of a state, nothing flowed and it didn’t even have a front door. I have since stripped it right back and fully renovated it throughout, but I’d say everything has been done in a very sympathetic way. I’ve given the interior quite a contemporary feel, but kept all the lovely original features so it still has character, and I’ve also changed to the layout to create what is now a really nice flow. “As well as renovating the main house I also had the triple garage converted into a really beautiful two-bedroom cottage,” says Donna. “My daughter and her partner currently live there, but the possibilities for its use are endless.”

“In my mind this is now a modern house within a period shell,” says Donna, “and along with everything else that we have here – the equestrian facilities, the cottage, the stunning location – I think it’s a place that would be terribly hard to better.”
