REASSIGNING POINT VALUES IN A TEST BLACKBOARD HOW TO One problem we have come across in matching and multiple answer questions is how blackboard handles scoring. You will only run into this if you have more than four possible matches or correct answers. For example, let's say you have a question with six matching sets worth 100 points. During migration, blackboard assumed there were only four matches so it gives each correct match 25 points. If your students had all six correct, they would get a whopping 150 points (6 *25). This is obvisouly wrong and we have a way to get blackboard to grade these correctly, here is how you change the points for those questions.. 1. In the Left Navigation Click on the Content Item that has the Test or Exam that you want to change the point values for. In this example we will be changing a matching question in Exam I.

REASSIGNING POINT VALUES IN A TESTBLACKBOARD HOW TO

One problem we have come across in matching and multiple answer questions is how blackboard handles scoring.

You will only run into this if you have more than four possible matches or correct answers. For example, let's say you have a question with six matching sets worth 100 points. During migration, blackboard assumed there were only four matches so it gives each correct match 25 points.

If your students had all six correct, they would get a whopping 150 points (6 *25).This is obvisouly wrong and we have a way to get blackboard to grade these correctly, here is how you change the points for those questions..

1. In the Left Navigation Click on the Content Item that has the Test or Exam that you want to change the point values for.

In this example we will be changing a matching question in Exam I.

1. Check all the check-boxes. 2. Click Submit

Does this sound redundant? The reason we have to uncheck, submit, re-check, submit is that this tricks Blackboard into leaving it’s default states and provides you with the extra options you need in reassigning the point values.

Again we need to go to the SCORING section we can see all the checkboxes are unchecked.
