2. You have been asked to write a script for the next Scooby Doo film as part of a competition. The story must include five of the following elements: Something glowing Something that makes a creepy noise A weird person Something to do with light Something difficult to see through The words: “Watch out Scooby, it’s heading for you!” A hole in an unusual place For fun Time to make up an impromptu ghost story! Break up into groups of 3 or 4. Shuffle the pack of 24 cards (see below) and places them face down in the middle of the table. The object of the game is to take it in turns to build up a horror story using the pictures on the cards for inspiration. The person with name that appears first in the alphabet takes the top card and places it face up in front of them. They then make up the first two or three lines of the story, incorporating the image on the card. The person on their left takes the next card and continues the story in the same way. The story develops as each player takes a card and continues the plot in turn. See if you can end the story successfully on the last card! Alternatively, the cards can be dealt in advance to each of the players, who then take it in turn to build the story by selecting a suitable card from their hand. Cut out the cards from the pages below.

Additional wordlists and discussion topics can be found at the end of the programme script, which can be downloaded from www.ur.se/engelska
