===================System Requirements===================The Driver Configuration Tool is guaranteed to work under the followingsystem environments.

Operating Systems:

Microsoft Windows XP Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Microsoft Windows Vista Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Microsoft Windows 7 Microsoft Windows 8

Computers:

Any computer that is running either one of the above operating systems.

Memory:

Sufficient enough to run either one of the above operating systems.

========================================Installing The Driver Configuration Tool========================================Install the Driver Configuration Tool in your computer according to thefollowing procedure.

* This procedure uses Windows Vista/7 as an example. Some terms may differ depending on the operating system you are using.

1. Prepare the 32-bit installer of this utility.

2. Log on to the computer you are using to run the Canon Driver Configuration Tool as an Administrator.

3. Quit all other applications.

4. If a prior version is already installed, uninstall it. For details about the uninstallation procedure, see "Uninstalling The Driver Configuration Tool".

5. Double-click the [Setup] or [Setup.exe] file on the installation disk.

The installation program starts.

* If the [User Account Control] dialog box appears in Windows Vista/Server 2008/7/8, click [Continue].

6. When the [Driver Configuration Tool] dialog box is displayed, click [Next].

7. Read the software license agreement carefully. If you agree to the terms, select [I Agree], and then click [Next].

8. Specify the folder where you want to install the utility, and click [Next].

If you want to install in a location other than the folder displayed, click [Browse] and specify the folder where you want to install the utility.

9. Click [Next].

10. When the screen indicating that installation has finished is displayed, click [Close].

====================================================Instructions for Using The Driver Configuration Tool====================================================For instructions on using the Driver Configuration Tool, refer to the User'sGuide and the online Help. Read them before using this utility.

User's Guide (PDF):Provides an overview of the various functions, the installation procedure,and operating procedures for the Driver Configuration Tool. This guide islocated in the [Manual] folder on the installation disk.

* To view the manual in PDF format, Adobe Reader/Adobe Acrobat Reader is required. If Adobe Reader/Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed on your system, please download it from the Adobe Systems Incorporated website.

Online Help:To display the online Help from the main window, select [Help] in the [Help]menu.To display the online Help from a window other than the main window, clickthe [Help] button at the lower right corner of the window.

==========================================Uninstalling The Driver Configuration Tool==========================================If the Driver Configuration Tool is no longer needed, uninstall it byfollowing the procedure below.

* This procedure uses Windows Vista/7 as an example. Some terms may differ depending on the operating system you are using.

1. Log on to Windows as an Administrator.

2. From the [Start] menu, select [Control Panel].

* If you are using Windows 8, from the desktop, display the charm bar to the right of the screen, and click or tap [Settings] -> [Control Panel].

3. Click [Uninstall a program].

4. Select [Driver Configuration Tool] from the program list, and click [Uninstall].

5. Click [Yes].

The Driver Configuration Tool is uninstalled.

* If the [User Account Control] dialog box appears in Windows Vista/Server 2008/7/8, click [Continue].

======================================Cautions, Limitations and Restrictions======================================When installing a configured driver, if a message that the driver has notpassed the Windows Logo test or the driver set does not contain a signatureis displayed, continue the installation. (Although the above alert is notdisplayed during installation for printer drivers manufactured by Canon,because they contain the above logo and digital signature, configured driversdiffer from standard drivers and are not certified, resulting in the abovealert being displayed.)
