Front Panel Controls and Status LEDs continued

FEATURE NAME WHAT IT DOES

Push Button Controls continued START DELAY Initiates the gradual increase of delaytime. Press this button when a radiotalk show begins. The light of thisbutton blinks for as long as delaytime is increasing. The light shinessteady once full delay time (7.5seconds) is achieved. See Appendix Cin the Symetrix 610 Broadcast AudioDelay Users Guide for more informa-tion.

COUGH Mutes the incoming signal whileallowing the output signal to play(uninterrupted) from the 610smemory. You can cough, have aquick drink of water, or make acomment to the producer or engineerwithout any perceptible programinterruption.

When you press this button, the 610plays from memory. If you press thisbutton for a period of time thatexceeds the amount of delay avail-able, then there will be dead air forthe excess (muted output). Whenyou release the button, the 610automatically begins to refill thememory.

DUMP PROFANITY Plays delayed programming stored inmemory to prevent unwanted audiofrom reaching the airwaves. As theprogram begins, the 610 graduallyand unobtrusively delays orstretches out the program until 7.5seconds of stereo audio is stored inmemory. When you press this button, the memory is cleared. Then the 610automatically begins to stretch (timeexpand) the program audio againuntil it attains the full 7.5 seconddelay.

See Appendix C of the 610 BroadcastAudio Delay Users Guide for detailson how to select between a full memorydump or a half memory3.75 seconddump.
