RANDOM ACTS OF COLD STONE CREAMERY SWEEP THE COUNTRY
WITH FREE ICE CREAM OFFER
Cold Stone Creamery Hopes to Inspire Others to Pay It Forward
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (January 20, 2015) – 2015 is off to a great start as
Cold Stone Creamery® (www.ColdStoneCreamery.com) engages people around the
country with the Random Acts of Cold Stone Creamery project. The Random Acts of
Cold Stone team (#RandomActsOfColdStone) is traveling to various cities nationwide
to give away FREE ICE CREAM in hopes that people will be inspired to Pay It
Forward (#ColdStonePayItForward) to others with a random act of their own.
“Random Acts of Cold Stone was developed as a way to say ‘thank you’ to our loyal
customers,” said Michael Serruya, chairman and CEO of Kahala Brands™, the parent
company of Cold Stone Creamery. “We also hope to inspire people to spread good
cheer by passing kindness onto others.”
The Random Acts of Cold Stone Creamery project kicked off at the
Cold Stone Creamery Corporate in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 6 with employees
taking the first pledge to Pay It Forward by doing something nice
for an organization within the local community.
“It’s fun to see our employees participating in this special
project,” Serruya said. “Some people vowed to make a donation
to a local homeless shelter, while others promised to donate their
time at a local animal rescue. It was great! We are big supporters
of community involvement and believe that doing positive things
in the community is an important part of who we are here at
Kahala Brands.”
After the corporate office launch, the project kick-off continued at the Tempe,
Arizona Cold Stone Creamery location, the very first store location to open back in
1988. Social media outreach and contact with My Cold Stone Club™ members spread
the word that the store was giving away ice cream. The first 200 people who walked
through the door received a Like It™ size of any flavor, or Creation™ they wanted to
eat.
Since the project launch at the beginning of January, the Random Acts of
Cold Stone Creamery team has visited five other cities besides Phoenix: Great Falls,
Montana; Clinton, Connecticut; Henderson, Nevada; Evansville, Indiana; and Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. “We still have three other markets we will be visiting this month, but
they are all surprises for now,” said Serruya. “People who follow us on Twitter,
Facebook or Instagram can look to see what clues we drop about which city we will
be in next.”
In addition to the grassroots outreach for the random acts project, there is also an
online giveaway through Twitter @ColdStone. Winners will be randomly selected to
receive #RandomActsOfColdStone in the form of e-giftcards.
