NAHQ - HQCB Relationship
• NAHQ sponsors the Healthcare Quality Certification Board (HQCB). NAHQ Members receive a discounted rate for the CPHQ examination. CPHQs receive a NAHQ membership discount.

• 140 objective multiple choice questions• 125 used for score• 15 pretest questions (not included in final score)
• Computer based testing with instant pass/fail
• 3 hours allotted to complete exam

Types of CPHQ exam questions
• RECALL (32%): Test of specific facts & concepts
• APPLICATION (50%): Requires candidate to interpret or to apply information to a situation
• ANALYSIS (18%): Tests the ability to evaluate, problem solve or integrate information and/or judgment

Leadership Through Recertification
• Recertification required every 2 years
• Requires 30 hours of continuing education
• Continuing education topics must relate to the exam outline
• Requires a recertification of $175.00
• Recertification cycles end on December 31. A grace period is allowed thru January 31.
• If certification lapses by the end of the grace period, the CPHQ certification is forfeited and the exam must be retaken.
• Reminders are sent out by the HQCB office, starting 6 months prior the expiration date, but it is still YOUR responsibility to renew your CPHQ certification by the end of the grace period.
