Rafael & Susan Sison, serving in the Philippines with ACTION International June 2015 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe. – 1 Tim 4:10 Looking back from when we were commissioned by our church in 2005, we are so thankful to GOD for He continuously fill our hearts with joy to serve. Praise GOD! We are excited to report that KIDS Home has taken a new God given direction in the ministry where we will not only work with street children but also with the parents and family of potential street kids within the indigent communities. We started last February 2015, together with our resident kids at KIDS Home Ministry Center, we visited the indigent community (mapping) located right below the hills outside our walls and introduced ourselves and the programs and services we provide at KID Home ministry center. Through our reach out effort, we met a lot of school dropouts whom we invited to attend our ALS (Alternative Learning System – GED equivalent) program. Most of them confesses to being idle, just hanging out with friends doing nothing every day. Some were even close to joining gangs which eventually could get them involved committing petty to serious crimes. Today, our ALS students have more than doubled and still growing. Praise GOD! I was so blessed and encouraged as I witnessed one of our kids boldly sharing the gospel among the homes we visited. He then ends with a prayer and invitation to accept Jesus in their life as their LORD and SAVIOR. Praise GOD! We introduced to them our soon to open Faith Clinic, which will provide medical and dental services. We also invited them to our medical mission at the ministry center where 150 individuals came. We hope to evangelize families, both parents and children coming through the Faith Clinic ministry. From this mapping (reach out) project, we now have a few of the parents comes to the ministry center and participate in our Friday chapel time and Sunday worship service. We are slowly building relationship with the parents. We hope to start disciple the parents and help them reach out and disciple their children. A couple and a brother from our home church came to visit and helped revive the old well we have in the community center. They analyzed, identified and help acquire the pump, motor and other materials needed to draw water from the well. We are now drawing clear clean water from the old well which is capable of filling up the water tank plus several water containers. We do not have to fully rely on buying from the water truck to fill up our tanks and containers every week. Praise GOD! Late last year we have partnered with an organization that provides full college scholarship to the less fortunate. What got us excited about their program is the fact that they cater to the financially challenged and the not so smart, average high school graduates. To this date, we have sent 23 high school graduates who never thought they would ever get a fair chance to earn a college degree much less, go to college as scholars.

That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

Most of

them confesses to being idle, just hanging out with friends doing nothing every day. Some were even close to joining gangs which eventually could get them involved committing petty to serious crimes. Today, our ALS students have more than doubled and still growing. Praise GOD! I was so blessed and encouraged as I witnessed one of our kids boldly sharing the gospel among the homes we visited. He then ends with a prayer and invitation to accept Jesus in their life as their LORD

and SAVIOR. Praise GOD! We introduced to them our soon to open Faith Clinic, which will provide medical and dental services. We also invited them to our medical mission at the ministry center where 150

individuals came.

They analyzed, identified and help

acquire the pump, motor and other materials needed to draw water from the well. We are now drawing clear clean water from the old well which is capable of filling up the water tank plus several water containers. We do not have to fully rely on buying from the water truck to fill up our tanks and containers every week. Praise GOD!

Late last year we have partnered with an organization that provides full college scholarship

to the less fortunate. What got us excited about their program is the fact that they cater to the financially challenged and the not so smart, average high school graduates. To this date, we have sent 23 high school graduates who never thought they would ever get a fair chance to earn a college degree much less, go to college as scholars.

God sent a couple of missionary pastors from Seattle, Washington who conducted a seminar on the proper use of the Life Application Study Bible (NLT). They blessed each 150 attendees, local pastors and church leaders, with a free NLT Bible.

GOD willing, we hope to host and provide more training conference(s) and seminar(s) to leaders, teachers and pastors.

As the LORD wills and provides, KIDs Home will start and or continue the following ministries;

o Street – visit, feed and share Jesus to the kids on the streets.

o Juvenile Prison – visit, feed and share Jesus to the kids in prison.

o OSY Camp – bring Out-Of-School Youth to evangelistic camps or conduct the camp at KH ministry center.

o ALS (Alternative Learning System) – is now available to the community. Anyone who wants to continue their education and hopefully earn their elementary or high school diploma is welcome. We include Bible study class in our curriculum.

o TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) – LORD willing, we will start sending some of our ALS students to this program early next year. This is a government run program which provides vocational and technical short courses which will equip the less fortunate and help them land a descent paying job either locally or abroad.

o College Scholarship – high school graduates who are out-of-school due to lack in financial resources are given a chance to pursue a college degree.

o Faith Clinic (Medical and Dental) – through this clinic, we intend to evangelize parents and family. As a start, the clinic will be open once a week. Depending on the demand, we may consider opening the clinic twice a week.

o Family Coaching – families will be invited to our discipleship class designed to teach biblical principles in godly living, godly parents and godly children.

o Livelihood – a program that will help sustain KIDS Home ministries and provide jobs to the unskilled jobless individuals.

o Shuttle Service – provide transportation to the poor who wishes to go and attend or serve at KIDS Home ministry center.

FAMILY MATTERS The last half of 2014 was quite challenging for bro. Raffy and sis. Susan. And only by GOD’S grace that brother Raffy was able to look after her ailing mother, be there for his wife, children and do KIDS Home ministries, while introducing KIDS Home’s new direction to other local NGO’s, churches and DSWD. There were times where sis. Susan had to take over some of the weekly errands like filling up drinking water containers at Faith Academy and do grocery runs for the ministry center while bro. Raffy attends to her ailing mother’s needs that were frequently in and out of doctor’s clinics, laboratories and hospital confinement. On the last week of December, brother Raffy’s mother has gone to be with the LORD. Our oldest son Bryan plans to come visit and serve with us at KIDS Home ministries after he completes his service commitment with the Salvation Army. GOD willing, our daughter Amanda will be graduating after the 2

nd semester of 2016. We pray that GOD would grant her desire

to serve as a career missionary working against human trafficking. In spite of his visual disability (Retinitis Pigmentosa), Joshua still participated in inter-school team sport competitions. He joined the school Rugby team in his junior year and the Track and Field team in his senior year. He graduated last May and plans to take a gap (rest) year since he is undecided yet on what to do next. In the meantime, Joshua signed up as a volunteer teacher’s assistant at Faith Academy. We’re hoping to find a college locally that offers a study course in line with his goal to be a physical fitness instructor. Susan continues to carry most of the administrative and accounting workload with KIDS Home while she ministers to her ailing 89 year old mother who lives with us on top of her usual role as a home maker, mother and wife. Vital signs are quickly going downhill for Susan’s mother as I was composing this letter. She helped take care of Amanda and Joshua from birth to toddler age while we were at work. Nanay received JESUS CHRIST as her LORD and SAVIOR in one of our weekly home Bible studies with her friends in her apartment back in the days in San Francisco. She is now staying with us where she is closely being monitored by Susan and some help and a physician friend.

With all the fine tuning needed to be done in the ministry and having limited furlough funds, we had to postpone our plans for 2015. God willing, we are hopeful to go on furlough on 2016 in time for Amanda’s graduation. We are hoping also to take a longer furlough and have more fun time with our kids and grand kid and time also to visit friends as well as give our ministry report to some of our ministry partner(s) and donor.
