4th QUARTER MUSIC GOALS 2020Intermediate School (Grades 3-5)

Week 1 (April 27 - May 1)CREATE: Pick one of the things below to create. Then share it with someone at home.

• Musical Instrument: Make a musical instrument from things you can find aroundyour house. Think about the instruments we use regularly in class like drums andshakers. How could you make something like that at home? Or think about theguitar. How could you make a guitar using a Kleenex box, paper towel roll, andrubber bands. Here are some helpful links:

Mexican Artist

Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo was a self-taught artist and created a magical realismwith surreal influences.

It is estimated that she created around 150to 200 works during her lifetime. Herearlier works were influenced by Renaissance masters but changed her styleincreasingly inspired by Mexican folk artwith themes of fantasy, naivety and a fascination with violence and death.

Kahlo’s reputation grew, and it wasannounced that her work is natural culturalheritage since 1984. Her life has been aninspiration for movies and ballet plays dueto her painful experiences in life.
