Gail Herrick (nee Snider}

OnTour with NancyWhat do you do when you meet someone that smiles, laughs and seems like they are

always having fun? You try and hang around with them. It just makes you feel good. They arelikemagnets — drawing you in with their smileand making you smilewiththem. That's the magnetismof Gail Herrick. She has personality plus and fun exudes from her being.

Gail was raised in Ottawa and was the third youngest of six brothers and three sisters. Her parents,Edna Reid and Harry Snider, had a big family to feed with ten kids, so they worked hard and filledtheir

home with lots of love and laughter. Suddenly at the tender age of eight years old, Gail’s father passedaway. Her mother stood strong, took on two jobs and pinched every penny she could just to try and make

ends meet and to keep her family together. "Somehow she did it!"remarked Gail.Atthe age of 19 years, a colleague of hers invited her home for the weekend at Fitzroy Harbour. On Friday night, the girls excitedly headed

out to meet up with the gang at PJ’s Restaurant. Well, those Valley boys sure know how to charm the ladies. There stood this handsomeValley boy at 5'7 with hazel-brown eyes and black hair. “Who was this handsome young man that made her blush?” she wondered. Gailsmiles and says“! guess you could say it was love at first sight. We were married only one year later." Yes, this distinguished mechanicfromReid Brother's, Eldon Herrick (passed 1997) placed a golden wedding band on Gail's finger on June 25, 1960.

Eldon eventually opened up his own shop called “Herri<:k’sTune-Up Center” which was attached to their home on McGonigal Street. Gailsmiled and said “Thiswas the best setup ever. I did the books, set-up the appointments and was stillon hand doing the most important jobof my life; raising our four beautiful daughters"!

Our children are as follows: Cindy (BillHobbs passed) two daughters, three grandchildren; Rhonda (Jim Hessel) two boys; Leanne (BrentMcMillan)one boy, one girl;Kelly (John Maclntyre) one boy, one girl.

Gail's life circles around her girls, the grandchildren and great grandchildren. They proudly call her “GG" for Great Grandma. “Theyanxiously come to GGs every Sunday morning. It's a ritual. it's my special time with them," Gail said fondly.

There are three words that describe Gail Herrick to a T. “Family, Love and Fun"! As love fills the room wherever she is, she also decoratesher surroundings to match the occasion, and theres nobody who can do the decorating quite like Gail! Christmas, Valentine's, St. Paddy’s,Easter, Thanksgiving. etc. Everyone knows that she willhave Baskin Place Residence decorated to the hilt and her apartment willmatch!

Thank you Gail for brightening our days and sharing your love for life with all of us!

Can't wait for our next tour...Chat soon!
