When you enter your DR username and

password, the file will automatically download.

You will see the window below. Click on “OK” to open the zip file.

Now you have a folder on your desktop titled miXscope 3.2.4. It has all that you need to install the software! Drag this entire folder into your applications.

Each school has a site license purchased by the Elementary Science Office.

Now you will see a window to select the microscope you are using. Be sure to select “QX5 / Smithsonian” from the menu bar.

Once you click “OK” it will locate the microscope and is ready to use!

From this point on, each time you use the QX5 on this computer, you simply need to:

•plug in the microscopes USB•double click on the miXscope icon in the

miXscope application folder•select the QX5/Smithsonian and hit OK

You are ready to go!
