QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2017 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827 916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com The much needed rain has finally stopped and SUMMER is on its way. It is getting way too hot to be outside, so the next best thing is to find a nice cool place inside and do some sewing. If you are tired of your existing projects, it is time to start another. If you need to finish a UFO and need help, we are here to advise. If you need a little inspiration, we have plenty of that as well. Come see our new samples, books, patterns and fabrics. Our knowledgeable staff is here to help you pull a new quilt or advise you on how to finish a project. We are gearing up for ROW BY ROW. The theme is” ON THE GO” this year. Each store will have their own design and pattern. You will be able to collect as many as you choose and make a row quilt or make individual wall hangings from your favorites. Our row is designed and in the process of being quilted. Elaine is working on the pattern and the staff is busily cutting and packaging fab- rics for the kits. The patterns are free to anyone who enters the store. They will be available on JUNE 21st. Fabrics are coming in every day. I know it is early to think about it, but Halloween is already here. We have the cutest line from Studio E called “Witchy”. It is the traditional Halloween colors of orange and black, but it has the funkiest witch hats and shoes, along with pumpkins and witches. There is a great panel and stripe as well as candy corn and spider webs. This line comes with a free pattern for table mat and runners. No, it is not too early for Christmas fabric either. It is trickling in a little each day. So far, we have received pieces from “Merry Berry” from Moda, “Nutcracker” from Alexander Henry, and “Holiday Trimmings” from Blank. It is not too soon to start those holiday projects believe it or not! We are known for our Civil war fabric so we feel compelled to purchase 1800’s frequently. Coming in July is Kim Diehl’s “Abundant Blessings”. There are twenty bolts of reds, greens, blues and golds that include a large scale paisley, a shirting, and a couple of geometrics. We have expanded into 1790’s because of Di Ford and her books, “Primarily Quilt I and II”. Come in and take a look at the beautiful books from Quiltmania. We have most of the fabrics from both of her books if you are interested in replicating any or all. “MEET THE TEACHERS” is scheduled for Sunday, June 25th, 12-4. It is a great time to come in and meet all of our wonderful teachers and see their projects. They will be on hand to personally discuss with you any of your questions. We will be CLOSED on FATHER’S DAY, the FOURTH of JULY and LABOR DAY, but otherwise, we are open seven days a week for your convenience and pleasure. We hope you will have time to come and visit us soon. If you missed the Pony Express reenactment on June 15th, check out the Pony Express Block Party that starts September 9th. We have purchased the themed fabric for this event specifically because the Express ended in Sacramento. There will be a postcard that you can have stamped at participating stores and a free block pattern. Elaine, Pat, Carol, Pam, Dawn, Diane, Donna, Lindsay, Ellen, Patty, Debbie, Diane, Vickie, Jean, Chris, Gerri, Paula and Sue.

QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER

SUMMER 2017 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827

916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com

The much needed rain has finally stopped and SUMMER is on its way. It is getting way too hot to

be outside, so the next best thing is to find a nice cool place inside and do some sewing. If you are

tired of your existing projects, it is time to start another. If you need to finish a UFO and need

help, we are here to advise. If you need a little inspiration, we have plenty of that as well. Come

see our new samples, books, patterns and fabrics. Our knowledgeable staff is here to help you pull

a new quilt or advise you on how to finish a project.

We are gearing up for ROW BY ROW. The theme is” ON THE GO” this year. Each store will have

their own design and pattern. You will be able to collect as many as you choose and make a row

quilt or make individual wall hangings from your favorites. Our row is designed and in the process

of being quilted. Elaine is working on the pattern and the staff is busily cutting and packaging fab-

rics for the kits. The patterns are free to anyone who enters the store. They will be available on

JUNE 21st.

Fabrics are coming in every day. I know it is early to think about it, but Halloween is already here.

We have the cutest line from Studio E called “Witchy”. It is the traditional Halloween colors of

orange and black, but it has the funkiest witch hats and shoes, along with pumpkins and witches.

There is a great panel and stripe as well as candy corn and spider webs. This line comes with a

free pattern for table mat and runners.

No, it is not too early for Christmas fabric either. It is trickling in a little each day. So far, we

have received pieces from “Merry Berry” from Moda, “Nutcracker” from Alexander Henry, and

“Holiday Trimmings” from Blank. It is not too soon to start those holiday projects believe it or

not!

We are known for our Civil war fabric so we feel compelled to purchase 1800’s frequently. Coming

in July is Kim Diehl’s “Abundant Blessings”. There are twenty bolts of reds, greens, blues and

golds that include a large scale paisley, a shirting, and a couple of geometrics. We have expanded

into 1790’s because of Di Ford and her books, “Primarily Quilt I and II”. Come in and take a look

at the beautiful books from Quiltmania. We have most of the fabrics from both of her books if

you are interested in replicating any or all.

“MEET THE TEACHERS” is scheduled for Sunday, June 25th, 12-4. It is a great time to come in

and meet all of our wonderful teachers and see their projects. They will be on hand to personally

discuss with you any of your questions.

We will be CLOSED on FATHER’S DAY, the FOURTH of JULY and LABOR DAY, but otherwise, we

are open seven days a week for your convenience and pleasure. We hope you will have time to come

and visit us soon.

If you missed the Pony Express reenactment on June 15th, check out the Pony Express Block

Party that starts September 9th. We have purchased the themed fabric for this event

specifically because the Express ended in Sacramento. There will be a postcard that you can have

stamped at participating stores and a free block pattern.
