Quick Tips for Voting by Mail Pursuant to Governor Murphy's Executive Order No. 144, a mandatory Vote by Mail Program has been enacted for the 2020 Primary Election. To make a write-in choice, fill in the oval and clearly print the name of the candidate. If you spoiled your mail-in ballot, request a new one from the Clerk of Elections Office at 732-431-7790. INSERT YOUR BALLOT INTO THE CERTIFICATION ENVELOPE Place the ballot into this envelope and seal it. Complete and Sign the Certificate of Mail-in Voter. DO NOT DETACH THE CERTIFICATE from the envelope. An incomplete certificate will void your ballot. If someone assists you in completing your ballot, they must complete the assistor portion. Candidates, union representatives, & employers cannot be assistors. INSERT THE CERTIFICATION ENVELOPE INTO THE RETURN ENVELOPE Place the certification envelope in the pre-addressed return envelope. Make sure the barcode/your name appears in the window of the return envelope. If someone mails or delivers your ballot for you, they must complete the Bearer Portion in front of you before the ballot leaves your possession. Candidates may not serve as bearers. A person may serve as a bearer for up to 3 voters. RETURN YOUR BALLOT Voted ballots may be mailed or delivered in person to the Monmouth County Board of Elections. Ballots delivered by mail must be postmarked on or before July 7, 2020. Ballots that are returned in person to the Monmouth County Board of Elections must be delivered by the close of polls on Election Day. If delivered in person, you or the bearer must present ID when surrendering the ballot. The Board of Elections is located at 300 Halls Mill Road in Freehold. Ballots deposited in a secure Monmouth County Ballot drop box must be deposited by 8pm, July 7. If you have any further questions on how to return your mail-in ballot, please call the Board of Elections Office at 732-431-7802. Pursuant to Governor Murphy's Executive Order No. 144, a mandatory Vote by Mail Program has been enacted for the 2020 Primary Election.
