POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN ORDERING

1. KEEP EDGES SHARP. A sharp leading edgeand back -- trailing edge is important. Theyprevent metal from being wedged betweenthe tip and the sleeve.

2. MINIMIZE CRACKING TIP. Make sure yourblueprint doesn’t have a sharp point on thebottom of the water jacket. Sharp pointswill start cracks.

3. SEAL TIPS AGAINST LEAKS. Make surethe tip is sealed at the rod by a hightemperature O-ring. Water leaks can run intothe sleeve and cause an explosion andpossible injury. Prevent water leaks by buyinga well-sealed tip.

4. Make sure the cooling tube is cut on a 45degree angle. Water will even if the tubebottoms out.

1. Coolant enters and exits at 1/4” ports (in-line is standard).2. Then it fl ows the length of the rod through a 3/8” tube - large enough so you’ll always get suffi cient coolant fl ow. Any smaller could starve the plunger tip.3. The end of the tube is extra long and slanted so coolant always enters the tip.4. ADVANCE® plunger tips (sold separately) have a custom coolant chamber. Even

wall thickness means even cooling all around and consistent wall strength.5. A high-temperature resistant O-ring seal fi ts snugly between the rod and tip. No

coolant can leak into sleeve or die, - preventing thermo-shock and possible explosions.6. A snug fi t between the tip and rod is vital. The threads on ADVANCE® rods and tips are

ring-gauged for precise fi t. All thread sizes are available.7. The brass plug screws in tight to seal in coolant.

9. Contact between the tip and sleeve is greater attheir bottom. We spray the lubricant there soyour plunger tip will always hydroplane over athin layer of lube and you will get adequate lubecoverage over sleeve and tip surfaces. Your tipsand sleeves will last longer because you arecooling and lubricating the sleeve and tip.

8. Have your rod gun-drilled. The ADVANCE®system puts a precise amount of lube where itbelongs - behind the tip and below thecenter line, so you can consistently get aneven coating of lube the length of the sleeveand the tip. The straight-through, gun-drilledhole is easier to clean.
