The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise establishedQueen Mary, University of London as one of the risingstars among the research-intensive institutions in theUK and highlighted distinctive research strengths in all of our faculties. Our success has been marked by our entry into the Russell Group in 2012. We are nowdeveloping ambitious plans, outlined in this College-wide strategy, to consolidate, expand and extend ourresearch activities. This strategy is designed to helpcreate the highest-quality environment for researchersand research students, and to support researchpartnerships both within the College (including newinterdisciplinary, cross-faculty partnerships) andbeyond it. It expresses our commitment to thedevelopment of researchers at all stages of theircareers and should be read alongside the Queen Mary, University of London Strategic Plan 2010-15 and the individual Faculty Strategies
