• Queen Latifah was born to mother Rita Owens and Father Lance Owens, in March 18, 1970. In Newark, New Jersey.

• In 1989 under took a European tour and released her first album “All Hail the Queen” combining Hip Pop, Reggae, and Jazz.

• In 1993 she released her first album on Motown called “Black Religion” dedicated to the memory of her late brother, Lance Latifiah Jr. He was a police officer killed in a motorcycle accident.
