Introduction
We are a local charity whose transport
services are aimed at increasing the
independence, mobility and peace of mind
of older and disabled people;
helping to combat the problems of
loneliness and isolation.
TDCTA is a registered charity, run by a
voluntary management committee, and is
funded through donations and grants
including grants from Mid Devon District
Council, Heathcoat Trust Devon
County Council & Tiverton &
Crediton Town Councils.
What is Ring & Ride? - It is a 15 seated fully accessible minibus which provides a door
to door service with a professional driver.
Who can use it? - The scheme is aimed at any age group who would struggle to use the
ordinary bus services for a variety of reasons. For instance you might be able to walk to
the bus stop to get the bus, but you aren’t able to get back home as you might struggle to
carry the shopping. You don’t have to be registered disabled to use the scheme.
Will the driver help me get on and off the bus ? - Our drivers can help you on & off
the bus, using the tail lift if necessary & will help you with carrying your bags to your door.
How much does it cost? You need to be a TDCTA Member which costs just £10 a year,
this can be paid on the first day of your travel. Prices are reviewed annually.
Crediton to Crediton = £3.00 Return, Village/Town to Exeter/ Tiverton = £5.00 Other
Trips—£6.00 Village to Crediton = £4.00 Return, Village/Town to Newton Abbot = £6.00
Where does the Ring & Ride Go? - Our destinations are: Crediton, Exeter, Newton
Abbot, Okehampton and Tiverton from selected areas.

We are searching for homes for our minibus boxes to
help us raise some much needed funds. Donating
your loose change can really help us to raise funds for
a new accessible minibus. If you are able to help us
then please ask your driver or in the office for one of
our Minibus Money boxes.
Don’t forget that you need to become a member to use our services, Membership costs just £10 per
year. The scheme membership will not only help TDCTA head in a sustainable direction after all the
funding cuts but it will allow our members to take a more in-depth role in how they wish TDCTA to
operate in the future, we will produce regular questionnaires and develop “friends of groups” whilst
selecting ambassadors to help promote the schemes we offer and seek new ideas.
Every member will be given a unique number which will be entered into an annual draw.

our Minibus Appeal.
TDCTA are seeking draw prizes to help us with our fundraising
events. We would be extremely grateful if you would be able to

Every quarter we produce 500 - 800 newsletters which are distributed throughout the Mid Devon area, mainly to older, disabled or rurally isolated people. A6 Half page = £20 Quarterly - £60 Annually or

This year we are trying to publicise our services in all the local parishes as well as in the
Tiverton & Crediton Town Centre. We’d like to organise several leaflet & poster drops, if
you are able to help with this then please let us know, as more hands make light work. It
would be great to be able to organise this while the sun keeps shining! If you are able to

We always need help with fundraising. If you’re able to arrange an event to help raise
some money for us, we’d love to hear from you. You may be able to:

Quiz Night, Find HOMES for our Collection Tins
or Promote our ‘100 Club’.

Help Tiverton & District CTA raise FREE funds when you shop online!
On Saturday 23rd July we attended Mid Devon Show with the generous help of Wotton of Tiverton. This
year we were lucky enough to also have the opportunity of a stand inside the show grounds selling cakes
and running a tombola. The cake stall was a complete success, raising in excess £147.00. I would like to
take this opportunity to say a massive Thank you to everyone who baked or brought cakes for us to sell,
without your help none of this would have been possible. All in all it was a very successful day with the
weather on our side, the event helped us raise a grand total of £440.26.

If you answered Yes ! Then why not try our Voluntary Car Scheme.
The Voluntary Car scheme can be used for hospital / doctors appointments,
visiting friends, hairdresser appointments, dental, airport, train stations, shop-
ping journeys, and many other journeys or destinations.
All we ask is that you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice, the more notice
you give us the easier it is to find you a driver
(there is NO such thing as TOO much notice!)
Our charges start at £3.50 and are currently 55p a mile for a return journey under two
hours and 90p for a single journey two hours or more
This charge will help to retain the sustainability of the scheme by helping with the
running costs of this much needed scheme.

As an independently funded local charity, we need
the support of the community to offer the varied
and vital services that we are proud to deliver.
We would love to get you all involved so why not
challenge yourself or someone you know with a
fundraising event? From a daring sponsored
challenge, hosting a coffee morning in your local
village hall, taking part in our busy calendar of
fundraising days, or simply helping with appeal
writing from the comfort of our office, we need
your help!
Quite simply, in these times when funding from
other sources is becoming ever more difficult to
secure, we are reliant upon new and innovative
methods, and your help can make all the
difference.

I'm sure we can all agree that flowers are
beautiful, but within days they have sadly faded.
If you believe in the work we do, there is a more
enduring way for friends and family to pay tribute.
A lasting memory— by remembering Tiverton &
District Community Transport in your Will, you are
ensuring that older people locally continue to get
the help they need. You can do this by leaving
instructions in your Will or an expression of
wishes. Discuss your intensions with your family
and friends, and make a note in your funeral plan,
as well as in your Will. TDCTA has the information
to help you decide the best way to leave a
charitable donation.
Legacies have made a huge difference to the
sustainability of our organisation and we are so
grateful to all those who have remembered us. All
contributions are used to serve the needs of older
people in the local area. For more information or

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS WANTED
We are currently searching for some more drivers in
the Tiverton & Crediton area as the demand on our
services are forever increasing so if you or someone
you know can spare some time each week please let
us know. Drivers receive 45p a mile for expenses.
